Guess who was 30?? No..... not me!!

Hi Ladies

Hope you're having a lovely Sunday - the sun is shining here, so it's a happy day!

I thought I'd show you the card I made for my daughter was had her big 3-0 birthday this week..  she loves mint and lilac colouring...  so that was easy!  I used another of my Di's Digi Downloads images (I DO love these)..  this time it is Wendy's Birthday Cake...  I love how the icing on the cake came out with the glitter and shading.

Materials:
Image: Di's Digi Downloads - Wendy's Birthday Cake
Colouring: Copics
Dies: Lil' Inkers Stitched Squares, Lil' Inkers Stitched Hearts, Lil' Inkers Stitched Scalloped Border
Memory Box numbers
Doodlebug Designs Enamel Dots
Paper: My Minds Eye Lime Twist (her favourite paper pad!)
Ribbon, Button and Glitter from stash

I fancied up the inside too..  you can just about see it on this photo...

She loved her card - her birthday was on Thursday as she'd taken a few days off, we enjoyed a lovely lunch together in York...  and her birthday still is carrying on today as she's enjoying a day with her friends..  well....  30 is worth celebrating isn't it??  LOL!  Here's a photo Barry took on the day..  sorry to my Facebook friends as you've already seen it...

Big hugs to all and Happy Crafting..

Paper Nest Dolls time

Hi Peeps...

Short and sweet post today as you've probably heard quite enough from me lately!

Today I'm sharing a DT card for The Paper Nest... this is Avery Bouquet and she's available HERE.

Now I always think these fabulous images are quite strong in character...  so they can carry the vibrant colours I've used on this one.

I've used a paper from Doodlebug Design..  with colours I'd never normally choose to use..  but I think it went OK... yes?

The only die used is from Lil' Inkers and is their Oval Stax.

Do pop over to THE PAPER NEST to join in with the new challenge... there are images to be won and there's lots of fabulous inspiration from the other Dolls on the DT.

There...  it DEFINITELY was short and sweet!

Big hugs to all

A little tale...

Hi Ladies

Today's card is my card for Sugar Nellie..  and I warn you, it is picture heavy!  I tried to take photos from all angles, to give you more of an idea of the effect... but still the 3D doesn't show up as well as it does IRL.   But hopefully it'll show you some of the depth.

I used The Story Teller for this card... it's available in digi at the moment..  and so it's perfect for colouring with Copics/Promarkers... in fact any alcohol marker.  I printed the image out twice, then fussy cut the toadstools and the fairy wings on the second.  Oooh ouch.... I do hate cutting through fairy wings - I always feel so mean!

Only one tiny die was involved in this card... mainly my trusty guillotine..  and my favourite Martha Stewart fine scissors - then some 3D glue pads.

Paper: LOTV Bonnets and Bowties
Colouring: Copics V000, V01, V04, V93, Prismacolour pencils for grass,
White Sharpie Poster Marker Pen
Organza Ribbon, Gems and Glitter from Stash
PTI Label Die and Stamp

Hope you like....

The weather was fabulous yesterday...  We took a trip to Harrogate in the morning then spent the afternoon hedge and lawn cutting....  today I need a rest - but I hope the sun stays with us!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting Girls
Thanks for taking the time to drop by and say hello..

Flower Garden at In The Pink

Hi Peeps

Today I'm here with my card for the new Flower Garden Challenge over at In The Pink..    and we're getting all summery at The Pink Palace... so our challenge requires the use of flowers..

http://inthepinkchallenge.blogspot.co.uk/

Now I know you'll all fall off your chairs seeing I've actually USED FLOWERS on my card (not even die cut ones)... but I do have a box of them in my stash... so I thought I'd dig them out and dust them off! LOL!  I'm not known for my use of  floral embellies...  it's a struggle to know just where to put them!  Think I got it right though....

Card Recipe:
Image - Wee Stamps Ruby
Papers - Maja Design Coffee in the Arbour
Colouring - Copics
Dies: Go Kreate Frilly #6, Memory Box Elegant Scrollwork
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts
Seam Binding Lace and glitter from stash

I'm trying to improve my hair colouring at the moment..  however, it's a struggle..  I'm not the most patient of people!  Someone once bought me a fridge magnet that said 'Lord grant me patience, but grant it me NOW!'  That's me!  So I want my hair colouring to be perfect... NOW!  I think I may enrol for the class with Alyce over at Kit and Clowder.

We're off out for a picnic today (not decided quite where yet..)...  and to pick up a little something sparkly that's been on order from a jewellers for me... so I'm excited!

I never could manage two roller skates at once!...

Hi All

Hope you're all well and enjoying the bit of sunshine we had over the weekend!  I managed to get my pots planted on Friday about three weeks later than I would normally do them..  but at last, their all ready for the summer!  (What summer do I hear?)

Grab Our Badge!

Today it's the turn of Paper Nest Dolls for my DT card..  and I have used Roller Skating Avery available HERE.   I always wanted to skate when I was a girl.... but like I said in the title, could never get the hang of the balancing bit!!  Nothing changed there then..

So.... a summer image deserves summer colours... yes?  I took my colour choice from the fabbie Doodlebug Designs Sugar Shoppe paper..  and also gave her some pink hair to match her lollipop!!  I used my Copics of course...

I fussy cut and 3D'd the image..  onto a panel that I'd embossed using a Crafts Too Embossing folder.  The border was done using a Memory Box Contempo Circle Border die, then I used an MFT Dienamics Rounded Banner Stax tab finished off with a button and some twine.

I did use some glossy accents on her skates and lollipop - and some glitter on the latter too  - yes... I had to have my glitter fix!

I hope you'll pop over to the Paper Nest Dolls blog and see what the other Dollies have come up with... you're bound to be inspired..... then as our challenge is Anything Goes, join in the fun!  If you use a Paper Nest Dolls image, you could be in for a lovely prize!

A big hello to my newest followers..  thank you for joining me and for any comments you may leave.... they do mean such a lot..

Big Hugs....

Is this Christine's blog??????

Hi all...

Yes...... you are at the right blog...... it IS me...  with my second gents card this year!  This one was sent to my eldest brother this week ...   Isn't it so difficult to find cards in the shops for men that don't feature a yacht, or a golf club, or a steam train... etc!

So... I decided to make my own (see? I generally always buy cards for men!) and then decided simple was best - so here's my effort!  I used the stamp from Clearly Besotted In The Frame set (though I did the Happy Birthday sentiment on the computer as there isn't a HB in the pack).  A bit of starry masculine type paper..  and some kraft card, finished with some doodling - and it was done.

And no doubt I'll be returning to pink land soon!

Hope you are all having a good weekend..
Big hugs
