Windy Days...

Hi Lovely Bloggers..

Well..... it's nearly September and we have previews of the fabulous new release from CC Designs to share!!

I chose to use Windy Day Cinnamon all wrapped up in her woolly coat and hat..  she looks toastie!!  I know we're still at the end of August and shouldn't quite need to wrap up yet..  but.....  Autumn/Fall days come so fast so it's best to be prepared!

Materials Used:
Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Border
Paper - Basic Grey India Summer
Colouring - Copics
Skin - E000/00/11, R20
Hair - E23/25/29
Bag, Scarf and Tights - RV29/ R56
Coat and Hat - E07/08/25
Shading W0/1/3/5

I played around with the tag shape to make it slightly smaller - just turning it in my Cuttelbug before it cut right through..  quiet easy and handy to know.

The release is out on Thursday this week..  but there's lots more previews to come before then!

Big hugs

Bridal Shower....

Hi Lovely Bloggers...

My youngest daughter made a request earlier this week for a card that she could take to a bridal shower...  and she wanted it to be in milk/chocolate colours (long story!) - sooooo, as we don't really have bridal showers here in the UK - I had to get my thinking cap on and do a bit of research!!

I decided to use an MFT Dienamics Umbrella die that I've used before for a baby shower - and I used lots of small flower punches and dies for the infill on the shape.  I used pearls for the centres of each flower too.  Then I thought it was too bare and needed decorating around the edge - so I set about hand colouring some white flower trim that I found in my stash.  I think I'm happy with the result!  I can't wait to hear what the bride-to-be thinks!

The bridal shower my daughter is going to is in Toronto - so the card is currently winging it's way across the Atlantic in her luggage.  She's stopping off in San Diego first to meet up with another friend for a few days..  so it's going to be a well travelled card!

And my eldest daughter is due back this weekend from her holidays - she and her boyfriend have been cycling from Switzerland to Holland along the Rhine..  then they're getting the ferry back to Yorkshire on Monday.  I think they've done very well as they've camped each night..  I have to say I prefer my transport with four wheels and then I like a proper bed at night!!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting

Monster Mash - Take 2

Hi Lovely Bloggers...

OK, I'm here with another Halloween card...  it's from another of the August release at CC Designs.......  these are just THE cutest little monsters you ever saw!

I played again with this one, using Distress Ink blending on the tag shape..  again something relatively new to me but something I'm very much enjoying learning!

Materials Used:
Images - CC Designs Monster Mash and Halloween Things
Sentiment - CC Designs Creepy Crawlies
Dies - CC Designs Cutter Layering Tag Dies,
CC Designs Outline Dies for Images, Memory Box Fence Die
Distress Inks for Blending - Black Soot, Seedless Preserves, Dried Marigold
Digi Paper
Colouring - Copics
Hair - YG25, G99
Skin - E000/00/11, R20
Bandages - W1/2/3/5
Grave C1/3/5
I also used C9 for colouring the white surround when the images were die cut with the outline dies - I thought it gave a more halloween type effect than the usual white border.

I splattered water across the Distress Ink blending as I'd seen done - and was happy with the effect it created!  Then I drew the bats/birds flying across the moon freehand - eeek!!

Hope you're having a good week..

Big hugs

A play with my Zig Clean Colours...

Hi Lovely Bloggers...

OK, I had time to play at the weekend.....  and I've had some Zig Clean Colour pens for a little while in my stash....... so I decided to dig them out and give them a go!

I'd bought this fabulous Tim Holtz stamp set a week or so ago - and knew I'd like to use them for these pens.  I was inspired for my first watercolour card by Kristina Werner - in fact my layout is very similar to one I saw her do,  as for my first card using these Zigs, I felt I needed to do as the experts do!  So thank you Kristina for inspiring me!

And oh my goodness.......  I LOVED colouring with Zigs!!  I was really pleased with my first attempt..  and know you'll be seeing them a lot in the near future..  while I practice light/dark/shadows etc..

Materials used:

Colouring - Zig Clean Colour Markers
Sentiment - Papertrey Ink
Enamel Dot from Doodlebug Design

Hope you like what I did...

Trouble in a Tutu...

Hi Lovely Bloggers...

Hope you're all OK and enjoying the last bit of summer.....  it's cooled down lots here and we had a full day of rain on Friday..  yucky!  My lovely OH is working this weekend, so I have craft room time...

Today I'm sharing a little card I made yesterday, using the very cute Clearly Besotted Trouble In A Tutu clear stamps.  I missed the boat when these stamps first came out and had to wait for them to be restocked before I could get my little hands on them...  but they were worth the wait!!

Of course, the little hippos had to be wearing PINK didn't they??

Materials Used:
Dotty Pink Card - Anna Marie Designs
Colouring - Copics
Hippos - T0/1/3/5
Tutus, Shoes and Bows - R81, RV55
Glitter card and glitter from stash

Oh my goodness.... how I loved colouring those little hippos and making this  card, and I also enjoyed fussy cutting all around the dancers and the banner.  Now, my lovely Mum used to call me a 'fairy elephant' when I was little.....  maybe she really meant a ballerina hippo?!

Big hugs and Happy Sunday

Hi Lovely Blogging Friends..

Here's my latest DT card using the fabulous Halloween goodies in the August release at CC Designs..

I've used a couple of images (the witch and her trusty cat!), from the Halloween Creatures Clear Stamp set, then a pumpkin from the Halloween Things set!  I've also used the fabulous outline dies - they make light work of fussy cutting the images..  easy peasy!

Now I'm not the best at Halloween cards - so I decided to go quite CAS...  and I'm relatively pleased how it turned out.

Halloween Paper
Colouring - Copics

Witch's face -E000/00/11, R21
