My first Sugar Nellie DT card!! Excited or what???????

Hi Girls...

Well here I am again today with my second post... but this time with my very first Sugar Nellie Design Team card...  Yes.... I was finally chosen to be a Sugar Bowl Sweetie and obviously am thrilled to bits - as it's a team that I've wanted to be on for such a long time!

Unfortunately though, I did have to do this card in a bit of a rush having just got back from my hols before the deadline... so hope you'll put up with one that's not my best!  This is one of the first Sugar Nellie images I ever bought - she's called Strike a Pose (think it may be out of stock just now)...  so thought it was apt to use.  And does anyone else remember those white PVC boots from the late 1960's/early 1970's?  The were very a la Mary Quant...  so I used a bit of glossy accents on them to make them PVC ish!!  They used to have elasticated tops.... and my legs were so thin then that they used to wobble around even in the elastic!  Hmmm wonder what happened to those days...

I used some Pion paper (not sure of the name).. some lace from The Hobby House...  some seam binding from my local haberdashery shop (that bow just WOULDN'T sit right)...  and then lots of Frantage around the image... (gotta love that stuff!)

Why don't you pop over to the Sugar Nellie Challenge Blog to check out the fabulous cards my lovely teamies have come up with...  they are truly inspirational!!

This week has been absolutely manic for me so I've not been able to get around to commenting properly..  but please bear with me... I'll be back in full swing soon.  Apologies anyway.  It could also have something to do with the 5 lbs I gained when I ate far too much in Kefalonia...  my fingers are now too fat to type quickly!! LOL!!  I'll share some pics soon.... we had a wonderful time after a bit of an issue getting away in the first place!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting

In The Pink time again...... and I'm back!!

Hi Bestest Blogging Buddies..

Well I'm back from my lovely hols... just in time to get my card ready for the next challenge at In The Pink.  This time the theme is an easy one... 'Anything Goes'....  of course, as long as it's PINK!! LOL!  And for the Guest Designing - I'm joined by the super-talented Lis-M....  a big welcome to her!

As you know, I love my Saturated Canary digi images... and Ava is a particular favourite.. so out she came.  She's an absolute joy to colour...  and I did a bit of shading and sponging too... after I'd used my Spellbinders Floral Oval Die.  I cut the balloon out a second time and shaped it to 3D... then used Stickles to give the bling!  I've used the paper before, and had cut the name off (sorry!), but again, it's one of my favourite papers... love the deep pink dotty.  The font was PC generated.. and I finished off with a couple of small flowers.. and some glitter on her pretty dress and boots..   I'd love to see you at In The Pink..  and have some exciting news to share with you regarding the challenge in the near future... but you'll have to wait and see!

Now...  I promised I'd share some pics of our hols... so if you get bored easily.. stop reading now!!

Me (hiding double chin)
Barry's favourite sport..
One of the many turtles in Argostoli Harbour waiting for the  reject fish thrown from the fishermen
The view from our fabulous bungalow... from the bed!
Our special bath overlooking the Ionian Sea!  We didn't find out what all the knobs did but the spa was fab!
The view while we ate lunch one day.. very close to our bungalow balcony
Assos Harbour
Another shot towards the harbour at Assos
A sample of the deserts at the hotel each night... well, I couldn't not try each... could  I? They were only little..  And I soon learned to miss out the main course and go straight from the salad starter to the desert.. they were different each night...
and see the little plastic dish that the ice cream came in?  I have four now!!  Perfect for my desk to keep little things tidy!
Barry nearly disowned me!
A little souvenir I brought back... and exactly what I resembled after eating all those puds!
Those of you that know me well, know I really struggle to go away on holiday... and I was all for cancelling on the Monday before we were due to go..  but...  I'm SO GLAD I went!

Soooooo  after I've bored you silly.....  why don't you pop over to In The Pink and see what pink fabulousness you can come up with!

Big hugs

PS... I'll be back shortly with another card...  I dunno, none for ages then they all come at once!! And I promise to try to catch up on some commenting...  please forgive me for not being around lately!

Just for fun... a big birthday card!

Hi Girls

Well I've had the idea of doing this card for a while... and when I got my Go Kreate Die last week from The Hobby House... I just had to give it a go!

I cut a card base with the Go Kreate Die (Frilly #7) then I cut the same shame from Pion paper to cover the base.  I cut a square aperture with a nestie...  then used acetate for the infill.  I used my PTI number dies on glitter card for the age...  and adhered them to the acetate.  Then all I used was a small flower punch (think it's Woodware) for the flowers which I shaped..  and a Cosmic Shimmer glue pearl for each centre.

I did a smaller GC die cut for the inside... same shape and just used the back of the double sided Pion paper - so when it's closed, it still looks pretty!

Hope you like...  I enjoyed making a 'pretty' card for a change - and one that I felt like doing, rather than one I 'had' to do!! LOL - know what I mean?

Big hugs and Happy Crafting..

Time for Bingo and Totally Gorjuss

Hi Bestest Blogging Buddies..

I'm here today with my Totally Gorjuss hat on...  the challenge this time is to use products from the bingo board below...  any three in a line across, down or diagonally... I'm sure you know the drill!

I chose to use ribbon, buttons and stars...  This is another of the sample cards I'm doing for LOTV - so is using an image from their Fairies Art Pad and paper from them too -  from the Nitwits Bonnets and Bowties pad.  It's a really easy card - so no recipe much - apart from I used two spellbinders shapes for the actual image.  I fiddled for the shapes where the buttons are... and of course used ribbon and glitter from my stash.. and finished with some cosmic shimmer pearl glue dots.

Here is the bingo board to choose from:

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!  And we're sponsored this time by Crafter's Companion - so for more inspiration pop over HERE and see what my fab teamies have come up with.

I'll be back later with more of the LOTV samples to show you..

Anything Goes... Shaped Cards... not a square in sight!

Hi Girls

You wouldn't believe the speed I had to put this card together... I've not been 100% lately, and let time slip by (as it has a habit of doing!)..  soooooooo  I rushed last night, and here is the result - hope you like!

The little lady is Flowers From Leah by Whimsie Doodles...  the dotty paper is from Hello Summer by Echo Park and I've put clear laquer on by Cosmic Shimmer to make the dots stand out.  I've coloured the image with copics and promakers (as always)... the blue cad is just from stash, but run through a chevron embossing folder... and the ribbon was a bit that was in my drawer!  I outlined the circle with stickles too (like it didn't have enough glitter already!! LOL!

So there you go.  Why don't you check out my lovely teamies creations at Anything Goes for more inspiration... then see what you can come up with that isn't square!  Oh and don't forget to pop over to the Craft Den site... lots of lovely crafty goodies available there.

Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend...  we had our first picnic of the year yesterday sitting by the river at Burnsall.....  it was glorious!

Big hugs

Frantage makes another appearance.. LOVE IT!

Hi Bestest Blogging Buddies..

Today's card is my DT card for Totally Gorjuss....  the requirement was Swirls...   and this is what I came up with.  I've got to say.... I really had fun making this card and am really pleased with how it's turned out!

I used Rosetta from Sylvia at Wee Stamps...  isn't she gorgeous?  I was inspired colourwise by Dena (thank you Dena) who'd used this image a week or so ago...  and as I felt I needed to get away from pink (!!) for a little while, I thought her colour choice was fab.  I used Copics AND Promarkers. Then the fun started...

I used a Go Kreate Large Frilly #6 to cut both the card and also the image frame..  then cut my DP with the same die.  I distressed the edge of the DP first.... then stamped a swirly flourish onto it with the same ink that I'd distressed with.  Then I got out my Frantage.........  this stuff is just so good to work with...  so glitzy... and it gives such a fabulous effect when you just sprinkle it around and heat from underneath.

I found a bit of seambinding in my stash which matched - together with some lace...  then finished off with a DooHickey Swirl Die - and of course, some glitter for Rosetta's wings...

I think this has to be my favourite card of all that I've made lately, and that's in no small part down to Sylvia's fabulous image......  Hope you like it too!

Hugs to all - Have a fabulous weekend..... and I hope you'll say hi if you've dropped by..

In The Pink - Maybe Baby!!

Hi Girls

Today I'm back with another couple of cards for In The Pink...  and yes, OK, one of them is a fairy... I just can't seem to get away from these little ones with wings!  Well, they do live at the bottom of my garden..  and actually, would I WANT to get away from them???  LOL!  (Yes...  'gone mad' I hear you say...)

My first card is using a fab image from Pink Petticoat called Baby Buggy.. and she just yelled out to be decoupaged..  and I think it looks so much better than just a flat image.

With it being such a small image, it didn't take much colouring and cutting..  and I just used some baby paper from my stash... some ribbon, a couple of buttons for the wheels..  and a Martha Stewart punch to finish.  Ooooh and I nearly forgot, some glitter!

And for my second card, I've used a Mo Manning image (Fairy Kiki) that I've used before as I've had it for two or three years.  Again, I used some baby paper (I think these papers came from a trip to the US in 2004!), some satin ribbon... and a Stampin Up Framelit Label Die for the shape.  The shading is done with Adirondack Shell Pink..  and of course, she has glitter on her wings.....

And now I'll be quiet for a couple of days (do I hear you say 'about time too?') - I've been a very busy blogger this week and it's worn me out a bit!  I also need to get some more card samples ready for LOTV using their fabulous Art Pads..  sooo, if you don't hear from me for a while, you know where I am!

Big hugs to all my lovely blogging friends and Happy Crafting.... oooh and do join in at In The Pink if you can..

And yet another fabulous LOTV Fairy..

Hi again girls

Well here's yet another card made with my LOTV Fairies Art Pad....  hands up all those who think I should have put all these in one post??  LOL!  Well I did think about it... then decided that no, each of these beautiful fairies deserves their own special place in blogland...  even though you may be screaming 'enough'!!

Today's is fairly simple....  the only die I've used is the Memory Box Daisy Bubble Border.  The papers again are Nitwits Promises - available from LOTV..  and of course, I've used my glitter and gems... and a little baker's twine bow.    Very simple - but I hope - effective.

I can't say enough about how handy these little pads are...  you can really make a simple card in minutes with them... or make a fancy card - depending on what you would like.  They just take all the effort out of the colouring... it's all done for you!

I've still got a couple more samples to do with the particular pad...  then I'll be onto the girlie ones..  You'll be sick of the sight of me soon!!  But I'll be back tomorrow with In The Pink's new challenge - hope to see you then!

Big hugs
