Pix's Favourites

Hi Lovelies..

Today I decided to do a little masking on my card - using these fabulous little bunnies from Mama Elephant - Pix's Favourites.

I fussy cut masks of all three of these gorgeous little bunnies - then I stamped the centre bunny onto my card, masking it before stamping the other two - so they appear behind the centre bunny.  I then adhered the other two masks over the image and a piece of post it tape for the base, before blending with some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

Card Info:
Image - Mama Elephant Pix's Favourites
Sentiment - Clearly Besotted
Die - MFT Stitched Rectangle
Colouring - Copics
Bunnies - T0/1/2/3 - N2/3/5 - E30/31/33
Dresses - R81/83/85, B21/23, V12/15/17

I cut a piece of fun foam to mount the panel onto my card base - it's so much easier to use than foam tape.

I was really thrilled how this turned out - I'll be doing more of this CAS style in the near future.. OK it wasn't very of the S (simple) for me - it took me a while!

Believe in Your Dreams

Hi Peeps

It's time for another Bellarific Friday over at Stamping Bella....  and today I'm using the fabulous Stephanie Loves Ballet - she's soooooo graceful and elegant!

I decided to use some shimmer paste through a stencil to create the glittery stars behind her...  I wish I could capture the sparkle better, but hey ho.. I never seem to manage.  You just have to know it sparkles well in real life!

Card Info:
Die - MFT Stitched Rectangle
Stars Stencil
Glimmer Paste sprinkled with extra glitter
Colouring - Copics
Skin - E000/00/11/04 R20
Hair - E23/27/29
Dress and Shoes - RV63/55/17

I carefully fussy cut the image and adhered her with foam pads so she pops from the card.

Hope you like my make today, and that you'll pop over to the Stamping Bella Blog to see what the other Babes have come up with to inspire.  You can also check out the Sistahood Facebook page to chat and share all things Bella related!

Have a lovely weekend all...

Hi Lovelies..

Well, as my card says, I'm celebrating!!  What am I celebrating??  Well I've discovered Press'n'Seal - which is going to revolutionise my die-cutting!  It enables the use of the negative as well as the positive of any die.  YAYY!!!

So - to explain further...  I bought the fabulous new All The Stars Cover Plate from MFT last week.....  which is a stunning cover plate that cuts all those fabulous stars from a panel.  Then this is where the magic happens!  When the panel is removed from the die...  most (if not all) of the stars stay where they were cut until you pop them out... yes?  So just pop  back into the panel any that did come away..... THEN...  take a piece of Press'n'Seal..  lay over the  front side of the diecut panel pressing down firmly - particularly where the stars are - then slowly peel the rectangular die-cut away - leaving all the stars in perfect position to use!  All I did was use small foam pads on the back of the stars while they were on the Peel'n'Stick, before lifting the film and pressing the stars down onto my card.  The Peel 'n' Stick can then be peeled away causing no damage to the stars or any texture/paint you've given them.   To get the idea better, as I said in my last post - you need to look at Laurie Willison from Soapbox Creations in her video HERE..

Before all of the above, I did some Distress Oxide blending onto a 4.25 x 5.5 inch piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock.. then lightly splattering water to lift some of the colour.  I then sprayed Pearl Ex mixed with water for a shimmer effect, and also Distress Ink Picket Fence Paint Spray.  So the stars have a graduated colour effect... and I used the left over piece of blended card behind the sentiment (cut from gold mirri card) so all matches.

 Card Info:
Dies - MFT All The Stars Cover Plate, MFT Celebrate word die
Distress Oxide Ink Pads - Picked Raspberry, Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed
Gold Mirri Card
Pearl Ex and DI Picket Fence Spray

You can see the negative of the cover plate in the photos..  that'll be used soon!

Can you tell I'm excited??? LOL!

Mwah from Beret Girl!

Hi Lovelies

It's new release day over at All Dressed Up - and I'm sharing a card I made with the gorgeous Beret Girl.

I decided to go for pastel pinks (and a touch of blue) for this girlie - she looks so fashionable - I wish I had legs like that!

I blended some Distress Oxides onto card then sprayed with Pearl Ex before getting out a cover plate die to use.

Now... I bought myself some of the magic that is Press 'n' Seal this week... wow - it's wonderful stuff!  It enables crafters to use the bits you'd normally throw away from a diecut - so, I used the negative of a cover plate die.  As it's slightly tacky, it holds all of the negatives exactly as they come from the die - enabling you to add glue or foam pads before adhering to a card base.  OK - I've not explained it well....  I've got to give credit to lovely Laurie Willison from Soapbox Creations who has a wonderful video HERE that'll show you far better than I can explain.  Suffice to say it's brilliant stuff that will open up a whole new crafting world!

Card Info:
Dies - Sunny Studio Frilly Frames, Stamping Bella Mwah Word Die
Distress Oxides Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar
Colouring - Copics
Skin as usual
Hair - E50/51/53/55
Dress, Hat and Shoes - RV10/11/13 B00/01
Glitter, Gems and Sequins
Glossy Accents

I diecut the word die three times and adhered them together, before covering in Glossy Accents to make the letters pop.

Hope you like my candy striped pink creation... I'm back in my happy place!

Oddball Bouquet

Hi There...

Yes... it's time for another Bellarific Friday! I swear these Fridays come round more often than weekly... but hey... I'm not complaining as I get to colour Stamping Bella goodies!!

Today we're highlighting the Stamp of the Month for September - which this time is Oddball Bouquet - you can buy her with 25% discount till the end of this month!

To create the background, I firstly blended the Distress Oxides onto Bristol Smooth watercolour card, then sprayed with water to lift some of the colour. I then sprayed with Pearl Ex mixed with water to give a shimmer (which is sooo difficult to capture on photos but looks fab in real life, then lastly with Distress Ink Picket Fence Paint.

I fussy cut the image so that I could make her stand out from the card on foam pads.

Card Info:
Dies - MFT Stitched Rectangle, Sizzix Swirling Stars
Background - Distress Oxide Mustard Seed, Ripe Persimmon, Wilted Violet
Colouring - Copics
Skin as usual
Hair - YR14/18 E08/18

Happy Birthday!

Hi Peeps..

Today I'm here with a card that didn't involve my Copics! LOL!

Firstly I did some Distress Oxide blending with Picked Raspberry, Ripe Persimmon, and Mustard Seed.. then I used Picket Fence through the MFT Circle Stencil to give the Bokeh effect.  After that I sprayed with some PearlEx mixed with water to give the glimmer, then with Distress Ink Picket Fence spray to give the white dots.

I diecut the Happy word from Whimsy Stamps from some gold mirri card- and added the 'birthday' from the MFT Essential Sentiments - stamping it in Versamark on black card, and heat embossing with white embossing powder.

Lastly I randomly added some gold stars cut with the Sizzix Swirling Stars die before mounting the whole panel on gold card - then I called it done.  It's not the best card for photography - but you get the idea!

Hope you like...

Fairy Swing

Hi Lovelies...

Well it's the first day of September - this year seems to be flying by doesn't it?  And as it's the 1st, we have a new challenge at the All Dressed Up Facebook Page and this time the theme is:

So pretty easy.... right?  I chose to use this gorgeous fairy sitting on her swing and coloured her using my favourite pinks.  Then I die-cut an oval from a patterned paper panel, before adhering the negative frame with foam tape to my image.

Card Info:
Dies - Lil' Inkers Stitched Oval, MFT Flower Trio
Paper - scrap from stash
Colouring - Copics
Skin - as usual
Hair - E50/51/53/55
Dress and Flowers - R81/83/85 RV66
Greens YG05
Butterflies T1 B21
Background - B0000/000/00/01
Glitter and Gems

I die-cut three little flowers and added some gems to the centre before adhering them to my card. Then I added extra spots of glitter around the image - as of course, all fairies need their sparkle!

Hope you like my make and that you'll say hello if you have a moment..

Sketched Flowers

Hi Peeps..

Today I'm back with a CAS card using the Sketched Flowers from Simon Says Stamp.  I decided not to colour the flowers individually and to only use part of the image - then I did some shading with a Distress Oxide pink.  I stamped again after the blending the pink..  which made the black lines of the image pop.  This is one of the joys of using a MISTI stamping tool - it's so easy to stamp again after colouring!  I then added one of the perfect sentiments that come with the set and it was finished!

Card Info:
Image and Sentiment - Simon Says Stamp Sketched Flowers
Distress Ink - Worn Lipstick
MFT Stitched Rectangles Die

So a very short post from me..  the sun is shining here in the UK (again!), so I'm off out into the garden...

Tropical Squidgies

Hi Lovelies...

It's time for a colour theme post at Stamping Bella - and this was the inspiration we were to use...

Image may contain: 1 person

Well I managed the tangerine and the aqua... but only have a tiny bit of the cranberry on the sunnies and around the edge of the card... that'll have to be enough.. lol!  And I think I may have to give up on the bokeh panels... I can never seem to get the effect that I want... the white is always a bit faded..  ah well..

Card Info:
Image and Sentiment - Stamping Bella Tropical Squidgies (includes 3 stamps)
Die - MFT Stitched Rectangle
Colouring - Copics
Skin as usual
Hair - E23/25/27 and E41/43/44

I love how their sunspecs turned out with the glossy accents - they are sooo glossy you can see my reflection in them!

Have a lovely weekend all... looks like the sun is going to be shining here in the UK..  so we'll be B-B-Q-ing!

Look for the rainbow...

Hi Peeps...

Today I've used a fabulous die set from Reverse Confetti - Over The Rainbow - combined with a sentiment from them also which I think is perfect to go with the rainbow.

I've used acetate between the clouds top and bottom and some vellum clouds too - so the rainbow sits comfortably behind the lower clouds.

Card Info:

Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Border
Sentiment - Reverse Confetti - So Many Sentiments
Colouring - Copics
Rainbow: R46 YR04 Y18 G14 B23 B28 V17

Hey Gullfriend!

Hi All..

I've made a bit of a promise to myself recently that I'll use some of the stamps that sit quietly in my stash.. and this Seaside Gull set from MFT was one of the first to my hand!

I stamped and coloured the gulls, then fussy cut.  I used some Distress Inks for the sea and sky background, then die cut a panel so the aperture fitted the background perfectly.  I then die cut a circle frame and adhered it so that it framed the window, before using 3D foam tape to lift the whole panel.  Finally I added the gull and clouds also on foam pads.

Card Info:
Image and Sentiment - MFT Seaside Gulls
Dies - MFT Stitched Rectangles, MFT Stitched Circle Frames
Colouring - Copics
Gull N0/1/2/3/5 Y15/18/21
Clouds - C0/1
Post - E44/43
Distress Inks - Tumbled Glass/Broken China/Chipped Sapphire

I loved how this little guy turned out.... and I have four of his friends all coloured and cut now waiting for other cards - hope they're not too noisy on my craft desk - and I hope they don't make a mess!!

Hope you had a lovely Sunday..

Happiness Blooms From Within....

Hi there...

Another Bellarific Friday has come around and this time we're using images that are from other than the new release.

I chose to use one of the fabulous Oddballs - this is Long Stemmed Oddball.  Isn't she just awesome??  I chose darker colour to match her personality..  then the sentiment I used comes with the image.

Card Info:
Die - Lil' Inkers Stitched Square
Colouring - Copics
Skin E000/E70/E71
Hair C5/7/9
Dress - BV00/01/04/17
Flowers - Y15 YR23
Eyeshadow and Shoes - G12/43/46
Shading - T0/1/3

I added a couple of gems and a sprinkling of Frantage to finish off this card... hope you like!

Don't forget to check out the Stamping Bella Blog to see what the other lovely Baberoonis have come up with, and also pop over to the Sistahood Facebook page to share all things Bella related!

Have a good weekend...

Party Frock

Hi there...

It's time for a new release at All Dressed Up - but as Wendy is busy getting on with the Christmas images, we're highlighting some of the older ones.

I've used the gorgeous 'Party Frock' for my card - and as you can see, unusually for me, I chose to use blues!  See?  I can do it!  I also tried a little Bokeh technique colouring for the panel - but as this is my first time trying, it's not the best.  I learned that I need to be more bold with the colours I use before stencilling the white circles so they show more.

Card Info:
Bokeh panel - Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Chipped Sapphire and Picket Fence Distress Inks
Colouring - Copics
Skin - as usual
Hair - C5/7/9
Dress - B12/14/16
Bow - N0/1

As I've not used a sentiment, the card can be used for lots of different occasions..  so it's one for my 'box to use in the near future!'  Now come on, we all have one of those, don't we??

Big hugs

Flowers for the lady...

Hi Peeps..

I've been playing with some more of my Pretty Pink Posh stash today - this time it's the Mother's Day Stamp Set - it's fabulous and comes with a sentiment and other single flower images.

I coloured and die cut the vase and flowers, then adhered them with foam pads to a stitched oval die cut - before in turn, adhering that to a lattice cover plate die.  I created the background with distress oxides so give varying shades of pink - but of course, the camera finds difficulty picking the different shades out.

Card Info:
Image - Pretty Pink Posh Mother's Day Stamp Set and matching dies
Dies - Lil' Inkers Stitched Oval, Sunny Studio Designs Lattice Cover Plate
Background - Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry
Colouring - Copics
Vase - RV91/93/95
Flowers - R81/83/85/89, Y15/18/38
Leaves YG23/25/17

I didn't use the sentiment that comes with the set, as I thought this card could be used for any occasion where some flowers would be well received!

Hope you like my make today...
