Clearly Besotted Oops-a-Daisy

Hi Lovelies...

Today I'm sharing a few cards I made using these cute chicks from Clearly Besotted.  I've been stash shopping again, as I've had this set for a couple of years, and have used them before a couple of times. 

Sorry this post is picture heavy, but I made a few different designs! 

This time, I decided to blend some colour onto the top of the card panel, using some post-it tape to protect the lower part.  I did the blending, then splattered some deeper colour over, then some gold watercolour paint.  

I shaped the chicks with an embossing tool, then added them to my card panels with foam pads so they stand out, then added a sentiment to each card.

I don't know about you, but it always makes me happy to use a stamp I've previously used and loved - it's like having an old friend as I know the best way to colour etc!

Pretty Pink Posh Daffodils

Hi Lovelies...

Well I'm getting ready for Easter - so I've been colouring these gorgeous daffodils!  They only take a couple of minutes to colour and then fussy cut.  Then I shaped them with an embossing tool and added foam tape to the back.  I created a small square smooshed background splattered with gold, and popped that behind the scalloped square frame, before adhering the daffodils.  

I used a dotty yellow paper for the background, then added a tiny sentiment which I'd stamped, then matted onto gold to give the card a little lift.

More Tulips...

Hi Lovelies...

I'm back with more tulips... this time shopping my stash to pop them in a vase!  

After colouring, I die cut the the tulips, and shaped them with an embossing tool.  I did the same shaping with the vase which I'd cut from kraft card.  Then I added a little sparkle to the vase, before adhering it to the filigree oval that I'd cut from white cardstock.  I added a tiny sentiment tied with rustic string to the vase, as I didn't think the card needed a sentiment, but it did need something!

Tulips Mother's Day

Hi Lovelies...

I'm running a bit late with this card, as it's Mother's Day here in the UK on Sunday this week!  But here it is.  I lost my own Mum a long time ago now - back in 1989 - and I still miss her.  So this card is for her memory, and for all the Mum's out there who deserve it!

I've used a set of tulip dies - I think I bought them from Amazon, but I've had them a while.  I saw a lovely card by Chris Stokes recently using them, and it prompted me to dig this set out and colour them up!  

I used my Copics to colour them, with a touch of white gel pen.  I then created my card base, using a slatted rectangle die for the heads to sit against.  I adhered that with foam tape onto a square stitched diecut panel.  Then I added the tulips which I'd shaped with an embossing tool.  Lastly, I used a sentiment from a Clearly Besotted Miniature Type set, which I embossing in Rose Gold, and added some rose gold card behind the strip to make it stand out.

Taylored Expressions Daisy Dreams

Hi Lovelies...

For my card today, I've used this lovely stamp from Taylored Expressions - which was part of my haul from the recent Crafterama show at York!  I love anything daisy-like, so this stamp was an immediate 'I have to have' item that jumped itself into my basket!

For the background, I used some card that I'd printed using a digi from LOTV - adding that to an embossed panel using a Burlap embossing folder.  

I stamped and coloured the image, then fussy cut it out, before adhering to the background with foam pads.  Lastly, I added a tiny sentiment, and some crystals.  Fussy cutting is very good for mindfulness..  there's nothing like concentrating hard so as not to accidentally cut through a stem!!  And weirdly, I find it relaxing!

Waffle Flower Happy

Hi Lovelies...

I got this new die a little while ago - it's from Waffle Flower and called Happy Vertical.  I decided to use the negative part, so cut it from a panel of white cardstock, adding acetate behind, then used foam tape to lift it from a piece of coloured digi paper, that I'd splattered with gold watercolour paint.

Then I added the panel to my card base, adding the birthday word which I'd cut from gold mirri cardstock.

Taylored Expressions Summer Days

Hi Lovelies...

I've made my card today using a fabulous layering stencils and embossing folder from Taylored Expressions called Summer Days. 

I did the stencilling first, then used the embossing folder on top to give this amazind 3D effect for the flowers and leaves!

I matted the panel onto kraft card, then added a diecut sentiment in gold mirri to finish the card.

Circle of Flowers

Hi Lovelies..

I’m sharing a card today that’s using another gifted to me (by my lovely man!) die… so no name I’m afraid! I diecut a stitched square of white card, then cut the scalloped circle part of the set in the centre. The flowers and butterfly are separate to the circle, to be placed where you like.

I added the square with foam tape to a deep pink card panel then added the flowers and butterfly with tiny foam pads.

Lastly,I added a tiny sentiment and some stickles, and it was done!

Colorado Craft Birthday Blessings

Hi Peeps...

I have another card today using a Colorado Craft image - this time from a different set - this one is for birthdays.  

Firstly, I coloured and fussy cut the image.   I created a square using masking paper - so I was able to blend ink through the square onto my card panel.  I used Distress Oxides - then splattered with gold watercolour paint. 

I had already die cut the square panel with a stitched square die, which I then matted onto pink card, adhering that onto my card base.  Lastly, I added a sentiment from the stamp set.

Colorado Crafts Lots of Love

Hi Lovelies...

I have a quick Valentine's card to share today, using an older stamp set from Colorado Crafts.  These critters are having a cuddle in the corner of my card panel - and are definitely still cosy!

I created a cloud background with a stencil, then matted that onto some silver glitter cardstock.  I then matted both onto a scrap of blue dotty card, then onto my card base. 

I coloured and fussy cut the images, then added them with foam tape onto my card.  I also added a couple of tiny die cut hearts - well, they had to be there!

Circle of Flowers

Hi Lovelies...

Sorry I've not been around for a little while, I had a tooth extraction a couple of weeks back and it's caused some problems for me, so although I've been making cards, I've not been feeling like sharing.  Hopefully it's on the mend now..  

For my card today, I've used a die which has no name - that was a gift to me, along with some others.  I love how it turned out.  

The die is cut from a panel that I'd already die cut with a Stitched Square die (which I use often!).  For the background behind the flowers, I used some patterned paper, which I'm afraid I also don't know the name of - I wish I did!  It was a digital download, but for the life of me, I can't find it again!  Anyways... I splattered it with gold watercolour paint, to catch the light.  

I finished up with a tiny sentiment on the corner, heat embossed with gold, before adhering the panel to my card base with foam tape.

Half Circles - Just Because

Hi Lovelies...

I spotted a card last week by @itsacardknocklife and was so inspired, I had to try the design!  She'd done a bit of a tutorial and was happy for others to be inspired - it just shows what we can make with very simple bits of stash and a clever design.

It's done with three different size circles... cut in half.  Then as you can see, they're adhered to each other in the opposite way.  Again, I dug out my older embossing folders and found this one for the background.  Then I adhered the half circles so the middle ones matched each other, with foam tape.

Lastly I added a leaf sprig cut from the same pink I'd used on the card, again with foam tape under the leaves that needed a lift.  A tiny sentiment was the finishing touch,

Spellbinders Layered Anemone

Hi Lovelies..

Today my card is made with a lot of my older stash!  After seeing a similar embossing folder used, I dug out this one that I've had for years and years, it's from Stamping Up.  I cut it down to a small square, then added a couple of die cut flowers that I'd coloured and added glitter to.  I added the embossed square to a stitched square, and then matted that with foam tape to my card panel.

Lastly, I added a tiny sentiment from an old Clearly Besotted sentiment set, and it was done.

Digi Darla Blessing from Heaven Baby Boy

Hi Lovelies..

For today's card, I have used an older digi image (I have LOTS on my PC!), to make a new baby card, which my daughter wanted to sent to her sister-in-law.  

I've used this image lots before, I love how clean the image is and it makes for a very simple card.  It's from Digi Darla - and has probably been in my stash for 10 years or so!

I printed the image then die cut the square around it, colouring the image then adding glitter to the moon.  Then I created a background with dotty blue card, matted onto a white card base.  I made a tiny sentiment on the PC which I added at the base.
