Reading Gnome

Hi There..

Well, another week, another Bellarific Friday!!  In my world the weeks seem to be passing quickly, but I know that for some, this lock down can't end soon enough.  I think we'll all have to be very wary to start with though, which is going to be very difficult for those of us with grandchildren - I've even got a new grandchild who I haven't been able to give a 'grandma cuddle' yet!

I've used the fabulous Reading Gnome on my card today - it was from last release - and I've been waiting patiently to colour him!  Don't forget, there's a wonderful new release to come in the near future... you'll LOVE it!

I coloured the gnome and toadstool - before fussy cutting.  Then I used a circular stencil to blend Distress Oxides through, giving a background for the image.  I did a bit of splattering on it too, and placed the sentiment just where I wanted it.  Lastly I adhered the image with foam pads to give lots of depth, giving it a shadow using warm grey copics.

One Martini, Two Martini, Three Martini, Floor!

Hi Peeps..

We have another Bellarific Friday over at Stamping Bella - and this time we had a colour theme to follow...

Image may contain: flower, plant, nature and outdoor

I especially love creating cards when I'm provided with the colours - it saves me thinking of which goes with what etc!

I coloured up Edna (I think she has to be my all time favourite image btw), then I fussy cut her, being careful around that wonderful figure of hers!  Then I created a background by smooshing Distress Ink Bundled Sage onto my craft mat and dabbing the Bristol Smooth paper through several times - drying in between each layer.  I was really happy how it turned out.  I then stamped the sentiment over the smooshing - before adding a border of patterned cardstock - adhering Edna with foam pads.  I'd used a very large embossing tool on the back of the Edna to give her shape..  can  you tell?  Hope so!

Card Info:
Paper - MFT Wood Grain
Distress Ink - Bundled Sage
Colouring - Copics

Taylored Expressions Wildflower Background

Hi Lovelies...

Today my card was a quickie..  using the fabulous Taylored Expressions Wildflower Background stamped with Versamark, then heat embossed with Alabaster embossing powder from Brutus Monroe.

After embossing, I used Distress Oxides to create the background - finally using a sunray stencil with the same colour to add a little something extra.  I splattered the background with water also.  Lastly, I added a few gems.

The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp - I heat embossed it in gold, then matted and layered so that it stood out.

Hope you like...

Rainbow Whimsy - Keep Smiling

Hi There..

I think we're in a bit of a rainbow type world at the moment - they are everywhere I look, and give such hope for the end of these awful times!  They also make me happy - whether it's making them or seeing them in all the windows of our neighbours.

I was in my happy rainbow place when I received the new MFT Rainbow Whimsy early this week, and set about a bit of a production line so I can send to friends.

I created the little sentiment on the PC - and printed it out 2 to a page, before cutting the stitched square panel, then I could place the die exactly where I wanted it to be.  I cut another smaller square, and blended Distress Oxides over to create the background - sprinkling with water to give some texture.  I adhered the smaller to the larger square - then added the rainbows - diecut from coloured cardstock.

Lastly, I used foam pads to adhere the large square panel to the card base..  and finished with some gems above the rainbow.

I could make these over and over as they gave me such pleasure which I was creating with them..  and that's what crafting is all about - yes??

Big hugs and Stay Safe..

Blanche The Butterfly...

Hi All...

Today's Bellarific Friday theme is Vintage - quite apt really as we're celebrating VE day today..  so I tried to use more muted vintage type colours in my make.

When we say Vintage - it actually only means we're using images that aren't from the current release... but these Tiny Townie Butterfly Girls are amongst my favourite of all the images - so I was happy to use one again.

Card Info:
Die - MFT Stitched Scalloped Square Frame
Paper - Maja Design
Colouring - Copics

It's a Rainbow type of day...

Hi Lovelies..

Well I've been in the mood for rainbows....... I just love their colours, and right now, they are everywhere I look!  So I thought I'd join in some more with these cards, which were inspired by a lovely Instagram friend of mine - Sharon @uniquelykdesigns

She'd used the Gorgeous Grung stamp set from Stampin' Up for the stamped spatter - and I managed to find a pre-used set on Ebay so snapped it up..  and then I played!!!  I got lots of ink pads out to try for 'the right' colours..  and ended up with the ones you see here.

I used a few different sentiment diecuts - all cut from gold mirri card and layered up three times on white so they stand proud of the card.

I am going to make a list of the colours I used so when I come to make more, I can remember... otherwise I've no chance of being able to make similar again.  So here goes...

Versafine Clair Charming Pink
Distress Ink Carved Pumpkin
MFT Lemon Drop
Distress Ink Twisted Citron
MFT Blu Raspberry
Distress Ink Blueprint Sketch
Distress ink Wilted Violet

Hope you like my rainbow makes today!
