Yes, yes... it's me, with turquoise!!

Hi Best Blogging Buddies..

Well here I am having tucked my pink markers away till next week...  giving my turquoise ones an airing!!  I do love pink, (and a tiny bit of salmon pink sneaked in here.... ), but a girl needs a change.....  right? LOL

Soooo let me introduce to you a little lady named Belinda from Tiddlyinks...  She's a little cutie with her big hat and her handbag.  You can see that I've also given her a little bit of glamour dust too...  you know me well!! hehe
Card recipe:
  • Papermania Design Stax Lucy Cromwell
  • Kaisercraft Bubblegum Hills - Blue Lemonade
  • Belinda - Tiddlyinks (digi image)
  • Cuttlebug hearts embossing folder
  • SU Scallop Punch (available from Sylvia here)
  • Sentiment - Pebbles Rub On (received with others as a RAK from lovely Pami! - thank you!!)
  • Coloured with Copics
As you can see, Belinda is sitting on quite a lot of 3d foam pads...  hope she's comfortable!! hehe

Today my lovely OH and I went out for a drive over to Skipton...  well to Samuel Taylors at Embsay to be precise....  It's been throwing it down all day, so we couldn't go anywhere nice for a picnic.....  but needed to get out of the house....  so what better place could I think of????  We had a nice lunch in a little pub on the way... and a lovely coffee on the way home....  and I bought one or two things (!) at Embsay....  So all is well with the world......!!

Happy crafting one and all..
Big hugs

More fun with pink!!

Hi Bestest Blogging Buddies

I've had such a fabulous time this past couple of weeks with our new challenge blog - In The Pink... we had over 200 people join and had 150 entrants!!  It's certainly kept Sylvia and I busy (and me scratching my head and consulting my daughter a lot when it came to the techno bit..)... but we got there in the end!  I can 't thank you all enough for all your support and kind words about the new challenge... and has made the hard work very worthwhile!

Now, our new theme this week is 'Things With Wings'...  so I thought I'd have a go at something that's been in my head for a while...

I used Maja Designs Crea Diem papers (soooooooooooooo difficult to cut into rather than just stroke), and I even ripped the edge of one to create the distressed effect!  Then I frayed some seam binding to put under the ripped edge.  The flowers were created using the Sizzix 3D flowers die then rolled, and I cut them out of some hand-made paper that I'd done a while ago using Starburst Stains.  The flourishes are from Die-namics, and the butterflies are Martha Stewart punches.... and I've also added gems, buttons, some feathers (which were a lovely little gift from a fab friend) and of course Glamour Dust for sparkle!  I distressed all the edges of those gorgeous papers to give the finished 'shabby chic' touch! Hope you like..

Now my second card..
This one is a different style altogether.....  This time I've used a stamp that came free in a mag last month - it's from Sylvia Zet at Wee Stamps and I think is probably available from her website.  I coloured her with a mixture of copics and prismacolour pencils, then I used a nestie (don't know the name I'm afraid), to cut out the image and also the next size up for the mount.  I sponged the edge of the image before I took her out of the nestie.... this gives a nice white edge.  If you want to see how I did this, there is a YouTube video on my tutorials page.

I used gorgeous deep pink DP from Papermania Capsule collection matted onto the reverse (it's double sided!)... then I used a Memory Box corner flourish.  Of course, she just had to have some gems and some sparkle for her wings....  and she was done!

My week has gone well so far - I think we can now call the kitchen 'done' (apart from the redecoration after the leak that is), and I've also had the plumber visit to stop my new boiler making the noises it has been!  Hope it keeps on like this!

Take care all..... thanks again, and  ooh and a big welcome to my newest followers..
Happy Crafting and Hugs

Anything Goes.... Make your own background...

Hi Best Blogging Buddies..

Another two weeks have magically disappeared somewhere ... and we're back again at Anything Goes.... this time the challenge theme is to 'Make Your Own Background'!  A few thoughts and ideas came to my head, but I decided to ignore them (!) and use some of my pink scraps that have been piling up lately!  So I spent a while cutting these squares, (I didn't use a punch, just my little guillotine)... then I stuck them all on a square card....  and hey presto!!  All I felt it needed was a simple Happy Birthday sentiment (done on the PC), cut with Nesties Labels 4.  I sponged the pink on to the label shape before I took the die off after embossing the edge.   I added a couple of gems, and a little bow and it was done!

Hope you like this home made background idea....  why don't you pop over to the blog here to see my fab teamies' creations too...  you're sure to get inspiration there.

We had some wonderful entries for the Summer Days challenge...  check out to see if you were a winner!

Big hugs

To welcome a new little girl....

Hi all

Just a quickie today... I needed a new baby girl card, and I'd seen inspiration a few weeks back... so I have unashamedly CASE'd this card from Mandy over at A Little Space of My Own.  She is such a talented card maker - and gives me lots of inspiration.  Pop over to her blog and check our her fabulous creations!

When I saw this on Mandy's blog, I already had the beautiful faux silk ribbon and heart pins from The Ribbon Girl, so all I needed was to use some dotty pink cardstock (digi from Pink Petticoat), cut in a fishtail....  a sentiment (done on the PC), a lovely shape for the sentiment using a nestie, a cuttlebug textured embossing folder...  and it was done!  So very easy....  but so effective I think.....  which I find with all Mandy's cards.

Hope everyone is well.....  I'm still getting over the shock of seeing so many wonderful people join in our In The Pink challenge blog!!  Can you believe, we're at 198 followers already???  It's only been one week and one day since it launched...   And we've nearly had 100 entries for the first challenge!!  I'm so glad to be able to provide a place for us pink lovers to share...

Many thanks to all those that have decided to follow my blog also.....  and a huge welcome.

Big Hugs to all...... have a good weekend - especially if it involves crafting!!

At the risk of being .... boring.....

Hi Blogging Friends

Well, as the title says.......  at the risk of being boring, I have another pink card for you!!  Only this one is nothing to do with In The Pink..  I've made it for a very good friend of ours who has never made a card in her life....  but loves anything pink, girly and glittery......  So as she's recently moved into a bungalow, I thought this may suit her well.  And it had to be a very simple card, as I had to get it in the post quickly!!   Soooooo  boring it is I'm afraid..  LOL!

The image is a freebie that came with a magazine about 18 months ago I think....  it's a Pink Petticoat design - the free set that it came in are very handy to use... I love them all.. and have used quite a few of them.  My pink pens (which are never put away now...) just had to be used for the roof... with some warm greys for the little house itself.  I used my prismacolour pencils for the grass... somehow they always do the grass better than the pens...  I used a white gel pen for the dots around, and of course, then got out my glue pen and glamour dust (well i just had to.....)...  then a little sentiment generated on the PC and cut with a Stamping Up punch....  all put onto some fabulous digi paper that I'd downloaded yesterday from Sassy Designs - this one is called Ballet....  and it was done and ready to post.  So there you go!!

We've been absolutely amazed at the number of followers and entrants into the challenge at In The Pink....  it's certainly been keeping Sylvia and I busy - so not many other cards have been made lately..  But I did spend a morning with Sylvia who hosted her first Stamping Up workshop with some lovely ladies on Saturday..  her ideas are fab and we did a couple of lovely make'n'takes.....  and no, I'm not going to own up how much I spent..........  Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....

Big Hugs and Happy Crafting

The big day is here!!! (in more ways than one...)

Hi Best Blogging Buddies...

Well....  as the title says, the big day is here!!!  Today is the launch day of our fabulous new challenge blog...... IN THE PINK.... for those of you that haven't heard me bellowing about it for the last couple of weeks.......  it's a brand new challenge blog for lovers of pink everywhere!!  But today isn't only that....  it's my birthday!!!  So it's double excitement for me!  I have also to say a big thankyou to those lovely blogging friends who have sent me fabulous cards.... I will put a pic up in my next post..

I decided for my first card to use a Kraftin Kimmie image called Samantha that's been hanging around in my 'to use' box for a little while... in fact for over a year!  I thought she was very apt for the launch..  she's certainly getting ready for her big party!  I vaguely (once upon a time) remember having legs like that... in the hot pants era...  ohhhhhhh what memories of my teens!

Card Recipe:

  • Image: Kraftin Kimmie Samantha - bought from Samuel Taylors at Embsay - in Sale Basket!
  • Pink Gingham - Papermania Capsule collection
  • Bazzill cardstock
  • MFT Die-namics Flower Trio
  • Sentiment - generated on PC then cut at jaunty angles!
  • Pleated Ribbon, bakers twine, glitter and gems - from stash
  • Copics and Promarkers

And for my second card (yes, two cards in one day!)...  I used an LOTV image called Little Dot Birthday Wishes.

She is sooo cute to colour - and I love how these little people actually come to life in front of you when you give them a few colours and a little shading...

Card Recipe:
LOTV Image - Little Dot Birthday Wish
Pink Petticoat DP - Ice Cream Curls
Spellbinders Nestie Labels 18 (with bottom cut off)
Ribbon and glitter from Stash - bow using bowmaker from ebay
Copics and Promarkers

As it's also my lovely OH's day off, I think we're off out somewhere today.... don't know where yet, I'll wait until I'm told!!  I'm like a child on my birthday (well actually most of the time..) - I love being spoiled.... but I won't actually see either of my daughters today (very unusual on my big day), as obviously one is overseas, and the other is still at the Olympics!  Soooooooo  I'll be just a bit sad too....  but no doubt we'll make up for it soon!

Thanks all for looking today, and also for all of you that joined IN THE PINK with the lovely Sylvia and me....  I can't wait to see how it goes!  Let's make it a big one!!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting..

In the summertime........

Hi Girls

Another two weeks has gone by, and here we are again with another challenge at Anything Goes...  this time our Challenge Theme is Summer Days...

Well as we've not had much summer yet.....  I needed to do something that would cheer me up.....  and what better than Ethel from the Creative Expressions Murrary and Ethel Set 2?  I haven't worn a bikini for years, but I'm sure I would look a whole lot worse than this!

This time I used my Prismacolour pencils to colour the image... then used some DP's with no name that were left over from something I used a while back... so sorry, can't tell you what they are but I thought they looked a bit deck-chair like!  I did the sentiment on the PC...  and finished her off with a bit of bunting from a stamp that came free in a mag a couple of weeks back.  Ooooh and I forgot, I used stickles on her bikini, and glossy accents on her specs!  And I doodled freehand around the image and the sentiment.

So there you go..  Hope you like.

Check out the blog here to see if you were a winner of the Let's Not Be Square challenge....  we had lots of fab entries and you never know!  Also....... while you're there, take a peek at my lovely teamies' creations.....  you're sure to find something that will inspire you to create something summery....  even if we don't have the sun itself!

Take care
Big hugs
