Happy Birthday Emma!

Hi Peeps.....

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my lovely daughter Emma...  it was her birthday yesterday and we had birthday cake - yes......  believe it or not, handmade by me!  It's a while since I did much baking......  M&S is just so much easier to go buy something!

Back to the card.....  this was a bit of a labour of love.  I'd seen a gorgeous card by Faye using these balloon flower images a while back..  and had logged the idea to use.  I didn't have the die for the flowers, so each had to be coloured then fussy cut!  Eeek!!  Then the diecut letters.... each had to be diecut three times and layered one of top of the other to give some depth to the letters..  so you can imagine how long it took me and how glue-y I got!

I wanted to personalise the colours too - Emma her loves purples, lilacs and aquas... so that's what I chose.  I did struggle on how to design the card when I had all the bits together.....  I think I got a bit too close to it as I really did struggle then!

Materials Used:
Colouring - Copics
Deep Purple - V12/15/17
Aqua - B01, BG01, B05
Lilac - BV000/01/11
Teddies - E30/31/34

Now......... a bit of exciting news!!  I was so thrilled and uber happy to be asked to join the Design Team at Passionate Paper Creations and Friends!!!  I had to think about it for all of 0.5 of a second.......  before I bit Rhea's hand off by accepting quickly!!

If you click on the logo - you'll go straight to our Facebook Page where we'd love you to share your fabulous creations with like-minded people.  There's also fun weekends with prizes up for grabs... it's a wonderful place - and I'm so thrilled to be part of it!  The aim is to share, encourage and learn...

Right.... time for breakfast and for me to get into my 'no referendum news' bubble!!  I'm sick of hearing about it all!

Have a lovely day...
Big hugs

  10. Oh Christine...this is soooo gorgeous and I bet Emma loved it especially in her fave colours...I'm partial to a bit of lilac too, after pink of course!
I can see you put a lot of love into this with having to layer the die cut letters and fussy cut all those flowers...and it was worth it for such a beautiful card :-)
The funny thing is that when your blog page first loads I could only see the top of the card, which was fabulous...and then I scrolled down and spotted the little critters at the bottom...and your card got even better!
    Big hugs, Kat xx
