Feeling Frosty

Hi Lovelies..

I've been playing with these gorgeous little snow-people from Sunny Studio Stamps...  aren't they the cutest?

After colouring them, I fussy cut them. I decided to create a background by die-cutting a rectangle frame from masking paper so that I could blend with Distress Inks though the inner bit of the rectangle.  I also masked a couple of snow drifts, to give some depth.

I added one of the sentiments from the stamp set - and it was done.  I like the effect that the masked background gives..  I splattered with some Picket Fence Distress Paint to give the snowy effect..  ooh and added a little sparkle too which you can't spot on the photos.

Penguins Bearing Gifts

Hi Peeps..

Guess what?  It's Bellarific Friday again - and we're sharing cards made with images from the latest release this time.  I chose to use the fabulous Penguins Bearing Gifts for my make... these little guys are the cutest penguins you'll ever see!

I used a die that gave me three apertures, so that the penguins could dance.

Card Info:
Dies - MFT Circle Trio Shaker Windows, MFT Stitched Rectangle
Colouring - Copics
Penguins - C5/7/9, BV31, Y18, YR15/24
Reds - R24/27/46 E57
Blues - B21/23/24
Gift - YG17/61, Y18, YR15
Fish - T0/1

I used red Bazzil card for behind the apertures and the matt - using 3D foam tape to lift the panel away from the red.

Hope you like my make today and that you'll pop over to the Stamping Bella Blog to see what the other lovely Babes have come up with to inspire - and also to the Sistahood Facebook page to chat and share all things Bella related.

Have a fabulous weekend...

Be Merry!

Hi Lovelies..

Today I have another of my makes from the Clearly Besotted Christmas Line Up Stamp set..  and these snowmen and Rudolphs certainly look a happy bunch waiting for their time of the year!

Again I stamped then masked the image before doing a bit of blending - using post-it tape to create the straight line below the image.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set and is just perfect for a CAS card.

Image and Sentiment - Clearly Besotted Christmas Line Up
Die - MFT Stitched Rectangle
Colouring - Rudolphs - E30/31/33/35 R27/46
Snowmen - B60, C3/5, BV01

Hope you like my Christmas make..

Zodiac Girl Taurus

Hi Lovelies..

It's another Bellarific Friday - this time we're using images from the Stamp of the Month collection - which this time means the Uptown Zodiac Girls.  I chose to use Taurus here..  loving her sass!

(this photo shows less of the shimmer but is not as dark)

I blended Distress Oxides for the background - using Picked Raspberry, Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves... going through from pink to lilac to plum.  I sprayed after blending with Pearl Ex Shimmer Spray (mixing Pearl Ex powder with water in a mini mister).  I then diecut a starry background to use as a stencil - daubing Picket Fence Distress Ink through the stars. Then I coloured the image to match the colours - before fussy cutting her and adhering with foam pads.

I just used the Taurus word (stamped with Versafine black ink) and kept the zodiac description for the inside of my card.  A few diecut stars finished my make.

Card Info:
Dies - Sunny Studio Frilly Frames Stripes (using frame only),
MFT All The Stars, Sizzix Swirling Stars
Colouring - Copics
Hair - E23/25/27
Skin - E000/00/11/04
Top - RV63/55/17
Jeans - B21/23/24/26
Belt - E23/25
Horns - W3/5

I matted my panel onto white cardstock, colouring the edges with my RV17 to create a pink that perfectly matched her top.

Little Town of Bethlehem

Hi Lovelies...

A quickie from me today...  using the fabulous Little Town of Bethlehem Die from My Favourite Things.  There's no image colouring involved with this one, the only colour is on the back panel which I created with my Distress Inks and a sprinkling of water.

The die set comes with four different cuts - perfect for layering in front of each other to create the town.

I used a Paper Smooches sentiment from their Christmas Sampler set which I've had for years and years, and thought was perfect for this scene.  I stamped it in Versamark then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

I finished by cutting an MFT Stitched Scalloped Rectangle Frame..  before matting the whole thing onto some navy cardstock.

Hope you like my make...

A proper Christmas Line Up!

Hi Lovelies..

Today my card features a new stamp set called Christmas Line Up from the October release at Clearly Besotted.   I fell for these little Santas as soon as I saw them..  and there are three other line-ups in the pack including rudolphs and snowmen, cats and mice - and with sentiments too.

And yes... for those that know me well, and know I don't generally get Christmas motivated until the end of November, I happily coloured them in lovely traditional Christmas colours!

I stamped the image twice, once on my card panel then again on masking paper which I cut out and masked the Santas with, before using a little Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create the background.

Card Info:
(out of stock currently but will be in again soon, I'm sure)
Die - MFT Stitched Rectangle
Colouring - Copics
Reds - R24/27/46 E57
Browns - E51/53/55/57
Greens - YG05/17
Beards and Hat Trims - T0/1
Boots - T5/7
Skin - E000/00/11 R20

After colouring etc, I very carefully stamped the sentiment, making ultra sure it was straight in my Misti before stamping!!

I wish I had better light to do my photographs - it's been raining off and on here all week, so trying to get the reds to show properly was a nightmare!

Hope you like my make today..

Happy Birthday Block

Hi Lovelies

I bought this fab MFT Birthday Block Die last week, and have been playing!  I decided to do some Distress Oxide blended panels and some glimmer spray before cutting them with the die. Then I used my Press'n'Seal to keep the letters in position before removing the die and the negative.  By doing this, I was able to add narrow foam tape on the back of the letters, before turning the whole piece of Press'n'Seal onto my card panel and burnishing the letters so they adhere well.  Yes.. sounds complex, but it isn't really..  check out the YouTube videos on using the Press'n'Seal.

On the first, I just added a small sentiment from one of my other MFT sets and embossed in white embossing powder.

And on my second card, I decided to add a few of the MFT Birthday Chicks to give a different style.

Hope you like my makes today..

The Penguins Waddle

Hi Peeps

Last weekend, the fabulous Tracy from Dies To Die For held a pop-up shop here in Wetherby - and of course, I just had to spend.... well didn't I? LOL!  Now I loved the recent Mama Elephant release, so this was the ideal opportunity for me to relocate them from her shop to my stash..  then get down to some penguin colouring!

This image is called The Penguins Waddle - for obvious reasons!  I looked on line and spotted the lovely Elaine's (Marker Geek) YouTube video on colouring this image - and got lots of tips from her on colouring the 'whites' which actually aren't truly white at all - and also the blacks - which are mainly coloured with my Copic BV's.

I stamped the image first of all, then stamped another image on masking paper before fussy cutting the mask and covering the penguins.  I then used my Distress Inks to create the background.

Card Info:
Image - Mama Elephant The Penguins Waddle
Colouring - Copics
Penguins - Whites - BV31/E40/E000
Penguins - Blacks - BV23/25/29
Beaks - YR27 Y18
Pinks - RV63/55
Lilacs BV01

After I'd coloured all the penguins, to finish the image panel, I splattered it with white Distress Paint to create the snow, then added the Fa La La diecut word - which is actually in glitter card believe it or not!  I then matted the panel onto navy card stock - and it was done.  I was really thrilled how it turned out.

Hope you like what I did...
