Big Birthday Balloons

Hi Lovelies..

This is a card I've been meaning to make for a little while...  I've seen so many fabulous cards on Instagram with lots of balloons - but I didn't have the right stencil - so put it off.  But yesterday, I decided that as I had the MFT Big Birthday Balloons die set, I would create my own stencil... and this is the result!

I just diecut the balloons from cardstock and used the negative for the stencil..  ok, they're not reusable, but perfect for making a single card.

I used lots of different inkpads to give a really colourful effect..  then diecut the birthday word die in gold mirri card three times adhered together so it really stands out.  I finished with a gold matt around the edge of the colourful panel.

Card Info:
MFT Big Birthday Balloons Die Set
MFT Inkpads - Blue Raspberry, Red Hot, Lemon Drop
Distress Inkpads - Carved Pumpkin, Twisted Citron, Shaded Lilac
Mama Elephant Birthday Word Die

Hope you like my colourful make and that you'll stop by and say hello..

Curvy Girl Bride

Hi Lovelies..

For our Bellarific Friday cards today, we're using images from the latest release...  however, as the postie still had my new release goodies when I made my card, I used this gorgeous Curvy Girl from the previous latest release.... get my drift? LOL!

And this girlie has got to be one of my all time favourite Stamping Bella images - there's so little colouring involved.  Her dress is coloured with pale greys - even though it's a white... it does have to have some shadows where the folds are.

I created the background by using a cover plate with lots of hearts - and placing that over an ink-blended background - which pales towards the edges giving a lovely effect.  I tore a bit of vellum for the sentiment - stamping it in Versamark then heat embossing it with silver fine embossing powder.

Card Info:
Sentiment - Whimsy Magical Birthday Wishes
Cover Plate - MFT Full of Hearts
Colouring - Copics
Skin - E000/00/11/04 R20
Hair E21/23/25
Dress - T0/1/3
Roses R81/83/85/89
Leaves - YG25/17 G99
Distress Oxide - Picked Raspberry

I fussy cut the bride before adhering her with foam pads to the card.  Hope you like!

Bee Friends

Hi Lovelies...

Today I'm sharing a 'just-for-fun' card I made using the lovely Bee Friends Stamp Set from Pretty Pink Posh.

Now, I turned my craft room upside down knowing I had what I thought was a honeycomb die - and eventually found this which is actually apparently chicken wire - and it's a cover plate by MFT.  Firstly I did a bit of smooshing with my Distress Inks to create the background...  then I diecut the cover plate in gold mirri card and trimmed it down a bit - before adhering it and the coloured bees, the sentiment and some sequins for a bit of bling!

Card Info:
Stamp Set - Pretty Pink Posh Bee Friends
Dies, MFT Chicken Wire Cover Plate, MFT Stitched Scalloped Rectangle,
L'il Inkers Stitched Sentiment Flag
Sentiment - done on PC
Distress Inks Tumbled Glass and Broken China
Colouring - Copics
E29/79/49 Y15/17/38 R000

Hope you like my make today - sometimes just-for-fun cards are the nicest to make - aren't they?

Big hugs..

Wish Upon A Star...

Hi Lovelies...

Today I'm sharing a card I made after watching a fabulous YouTube video from the lovely Kristina Werner - this is her design and when I saw what she'd created, I fell in love totally and knew I had to try to colour up something similar.

I stamped the image and coloured with Copics, before stamping and cutting out a mask to apply over the coloured image.  Then I got out my Distress Ink pads, and my Life Changing Blender Brushes to try to create something as good as Kristina's.  Well, my first two images hit the bin quickly - and for this third, I really tried to work with a light hand..  but I'm still not sure I accomplished it.  But I AM learning and for that I really do thank Kristina for such clear instructions on the YouTube video.

Zodiac Girl - Virgo

Hi Lovelies..

It's Bellarific Friday time again - and we're highlighting some of the stamps that aren't from the current release this week, so I chose to use this gorgeous Virgo Zodiac Girl.  Now, I'm not the best at colouring folds, and this girl nearly hit the bin a few times..  but then I got up and walked away from her for a while..  before deciding to just go with the colouring I'd done...  because I didn't think I'd be able to do a better job!  And what the heck..  I know my limitations and am not ashamed to admit them...

Card Info:
Sentiment - Papertrey Ink
Dies - Papertrey Ink Tiny Messages, Lawn Fawn Stitched Edges

Tomorrow I'm singing at our local food festival - I joined the Rock Choir a few months back - and I LOVE it....  but I am a little nervous as this is my first 'gig'... so wish me luck!

Then on Sunday all the family are here as it's my lovely grand-daughter's first birthday so we're having a party...  yay!!

A simple but effective card...

Hi Lovelies...

Today I'm sharing a really easy card to make using some Distress Oxide Inkpads and a stencil..... ooh and a word die too.  I've seen lots of rainbow coloured cards recently on Instagram, so I decided to have a go myself.

I took a piece of white card and firstly attached a piece of post-it tape across the centre - making ultra sure it was level.  Then I taped the stencil over the panel on my craft mat.  Out came my Distress Oxides, and I used blending sponges to colour through the stencil in rainbow colours.  I peeled back the stencil and the magic happens!  I then used a stitched rectangle die so the panel would fit my card.

I used gold mirri card layered up three times for the sentiment - but it's so difficult to photograph the gold...  but you can see it on the photo below.

Card Info:
Stencil - Judikins
Word Die - Whimsy Stamps
MFT Stitched Rectangle Die
Gems

I added a few gems to give some sparkle, then it was done.Such a simple but very effective card - I was really pleased with how it turned out.   Hope you like it too.

Now...  a question...  I'm wondering whether to continue blogging - as it would appear that Instagram is the way to go and I'm not sure that I reach many people through blogging any more..  What do you think?  Let me know..

Hugs
