Sugar Nellie time..

Hi Ladies...

Well I'm back in the land of the fairies (YES...ok, enough with the 'away with them more like' thoughts!)...  And today I've used one of the super new Scrapberry Fairies from Sugar Nellie... this one is Fairy Birthday and is available HERE from Funky Kits

As she's quite a large stamp, I decided to go with a CAS style...  to be quite honest, I couldn't fit much else on!  I've seen a lot of the purple/blue colourway around lately - so I thought I'd give that a go too...  I think I like!

There isn't much for me to explain about the card - I used my Copics, and then doodled around the edge with a fine liner.  Then I used lots of Stickles and Glitter - which looks so much better in real life......  ah well...

I used the little sentiment that comes with this fairy stamp...  and unusually for me, stamped it after I'd coloured the image......  YIKES..... but it worked!

Hope you all have a lovely day today...

Big hugs and Happy Crafting..

We're famous!!

Hi Ladies...

Happy Saturday to you all!

Today I'm here to show you a card that I made for All Dressed Up a little while ago - and it's now featured in this month's Complete Cardmaking magazine (out now)...  along with cards from the other lovely DT ladies..... soooooooo we're famous!! anyone need an autograph?? hehe!

This is one of my favourite of all of Wendy's fabulous designs...  if you haven't met here before, this is Abi Ballerina - and she's actually a FREEBIE and can be found HERE.

I like to make her the real focal point of a card.... so I colour her with my copics, and then I use a CAS layout.  I did print our her skirt a second time though and fussy cut it, then added it 3D (with sticky pads) onto the first image.  The die I used for the square is a Lil' Inkers Stitched Square (my regular followers will know this is I think I've nearly worn it out - I've used it so much!)

Then I used some of Wendy's lovely All Dressed Up digital paper scraps run through with my MFT Fishtail Die - and also used one of my number dies to create the SIX in glitter card...

Of course, a ballerina had to have sparkle..... and as you can see, I added loads!

Do watch out for the Complete Cardmaking magazine.... it's got lots of lovely All Dressed Up designs from the other DT ladies.... AND there are two exclusive images that you can get your hands on too!

Hope you have a lovely day.... I'm off to Matalan to stand there for a few hours promoting the children's hospice lottery.......  wish me luck!!

Big hugs

Animal Antics...

Hi Ladies

We have another challenge starting today at In The Pink...  and this time our theme is 'Animal Antics'!  Hmmmm I don't know who thought of that one, but it did pose me a problem for a while!!  Then I came up with an idea and put a card together... only for it to end in the bin!  I'd shown it to my lovely OH only for him to shake his head..... a SURE SIGN that it's not good!

So onto card number two!!  I did use the same animal that I'd rescued from the original card..  and think this one came together better... hope you like..

Materials:
Image: Crafters Companion Wild About You
Colouring: Copics
Dies: Lil' Inkers Stitched Circles, Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags (with sentiment), and their Loop de Loop II border die
Paper: Echo Park Hippity Stripe (reverse side)
Doodlebug Design Sequins

So don't forget to pop over to In The Pink to join in the animal fun....  teddy bears, soft toys, ducks and even birds are included by the way!

Big hugs and Happy PINK crafting..

A cuddle makes it all better...

Helloooooooooo...

I'm here on this lovely sunny day to show you a card using an image from the new July release at All Dressed Up...   This image is called 'A Cuddle Makes it All Better' - and is available HERE

I decided to use the girl and dog without the sentiment, so I could use my own.  It's easy to alter a digi image in Paint.Net  (a free downloadable programme).  If you need more info, drop me an email.

I also tried to give the little doggie some texture - a bit terrier like??  I've been asked a couple of times to do a tutorial on this texture..  Let me know if you'd like me to.

Card Recipe:
Image - All Dressed Up - A Cuddle Makes it All Better
Colouring - Copics
Dies: Lil' Inkers Stitched Square (probably my most uses die EVER), and Memory Box Stars
Sentiment: done on PC
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Paper - scrap from stash
White Gel Pen and Cosmic Shimmer Pearl Glue for dots
Gems and glitter - from stash

Here's a peek at the other new images...  I can't decide on my favourite this time...  I think they ALL are!  They're all available at the All Dressed Up shop HERE.

New home...

Hi Peeps..

Just a quickie post today - but I wanted to show you this little card I made for my daughter - she's just moved into a new apartment in London... and I know this image isn't 'apartment-like' - but it's one of my favourite little images so I knew I had to use it again.  And she's now received it so I'm safe to blog!

This is back to 'my type' of card... a bit CAS, a bit of pink, a bit of glitter... and a bit of frill.  Says it all really!! hehe!

The image is from Pink Petticoat - it was a magazine freebie a couple of years back... I used Copics and Prismacolour pencils to colour, the circle is a Stately Circles Spellbinder, and the paper is a digi from Raspberry Road.

See - I can be quick and not waffle when I want to!!  I've had a couple of these visual disturbance migraines over the last couple of days followed by a throbbing head.. and they're a bit scarey so I'm not tempting fate by staying on the computer too much!

Big Hugs to all and have a wonderful weekend..

A bit of sparkle on my fairy...

Hi Peeps

I'm back today with my DT card for Sugar Nellie...  Of course, with my love of fairies I was bound to like and want to use this little lady...  but the card didn't turn out as I'd originally thought it might... It sort of evolved....  not sure if that was good or bad!  I had thought of using blues.....  so dunno what changed...

Materials Used:
Colouring: Copics
Dies: SB Opulent Ovals, Tim Holtz Flowers
Paper: Maja Design Coffee in the Arbour
Everything else from stash

I do hope you've been enjoying the wonderful weather we've been having here in the UK...  we went to a Food Festival on Sunday here in Wetherby... and I got sunburned!  So I've taken it carefully since then.  I hear we may have 30 degrees over the weekend.... and probably thunder!  EEEK!

Big hugs

A quick Golden Wedding card..

Hi Ladies..

I just wanted to show you a very quick-to-make Golden Wedding card that I made for some friends of ours..  although the photograph doesn't do the card justice I'm afraid.

I used the Clearly Besotted Trellis Die..  and stuck it to a Lil' Inkers Stitched Square... then had an idea to use some punched flowers and flourishes...  I thought it needed a couple of butterflies too.  I used gold mirri card for the trellis and flourish (so difficult to see the gold on here without enlarging the photograph), and pearlised white for the flowers and butterflies.  The sentiment is just done on the PC using Vivaldi font, but I have the colour mix so it looks gold when printed.  (Update as I've been asked:  The mix is Red 165, Green 138, and Blue 82).   A tiny bit of gold stickles in the centre of the flowers and butterfly - and it was finished!  Hope you like..

Hope you all have a lovely weekend - we're off to a Food Festival tomorrow.....  enough said!! hehe!

Big hugs

Get Well Hugs...

Hi Lovely Ladies...

Today it's time for a new challenge over at In The Pink....  and this time the theme is Get Well Soon (or Thinking of You)..  and as I love this little lady (in fact I love all the Pure Innocence range!) - I felt she was perfect to use..  I mean, who doesn't need a hug when they're poorly??

Card Recipe:
Colouring: Copics
Background Stencil: Clarity Stamps
MS Border Punch
Yarn
PC generated sentiment on Die-Namics Sentiment Tags Die
Enamel Dot and a TOUCH of glitter!

This is the first time I've used a stencilled background - I masked the little girl first, then used an Adirondack Shell Pink ink on a sponge to dab through.  I'm quite happy with the effect it gives... I may have to watch our for more stencils!

Hope you like my Clean and (relatively) Simple little card and that you'll pop over to see what the other lovely Pink Ladies have come up with, and then join in our challenge at In The Pink - but don't forget your card has to use pink as the MAIN colour - that can't be too difficult huh??

Thanks for taking the time to stop by today..
Big hugs and Happy Crafting

A little bit of frou-frou..

Morning all...

Hope you're all well..

Today I have what my lovely sister would have called 'a bit of frou-frou' - (she had her own fabbie words for lots of things - I can't believe it's now over 5 years since she passed away - I still miss her so much)..  Anyway, it's a card I made just because I felt like it  - the most enjoyable ones to make don't you think?

I bought this stamp over at Samuel Taylors in Embsay last time I was there.... she's just up my street - and of course, she had to be adorned with pink and glitter!

Materials Used:
Paper - Sorry it was a piece from my scrap box - no name
Colouring - Copics
Die: Floral Oval from Spellbinders
Sentiment: PC Generated
Ribbon and Glitter from Stash

Being in Yorkshire, we're all ready for the big race today... The Tour de France Grand Depart passes within a few miles of our house...  but as so many roads are closed, we're going to be couch watchers!! hehe!  The atmosphere in the locality is wonderful and it's been good to see everyone pulling together.  However, it's quite cloudy and a bit wet at the moment, but the weather men say it's going to clear so that the crowds can see lovely Yorkshire at it's fabulous best!

Have a good weekend, whatever you're doing..

Lilac Princess Evie....

Hi peeps

I'm back again....  this time it's with my DT card for Sugar Nellie...  and as we had exciting times last week with these fabulous new images arriving, I wanted to show this little lady - she's called Princess Evie - and she's all ready for her prom date!

Materials used:
Paper: Magnolia
Colouring: Copics
Dies: Go Kreate Frilly #6, Die-namics Pierced Circle Staxx, Memory Box Whimsical Flourish, Joy Crafts Vintage Flourishes Flower
Ribbon, Gems and Glitter from stash

Hope you're having a lovely week so far... we're all geared up for the 'Grand Depart' of the Tour De France this weekend here in Yorkshire...  Me?  I'm staying put in my house as there's so many road closures!  Well, either that, or heading south!  It's so lovely to feel the atmosphere building though for the big event and everyone pulling together... but....  WHY couldn't they have had PINK jerseys/bikes?  You know how I HATE yellow... and there are yellow bikes ALL OVER the place around here - everywhere you look!! hehe!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting

Sweetie Pie is here again..

Hi Peeps

I'm here today with my card for the new Challenge at All Dressed Up....  our theme this time is 'USE YOUR FAVOURITE IMAGE'......  so that gave me a dilemma....  just HOW to choose??

All of Wendy's images are wonderful... and my favourite tends to change to whichever one I'm currently colouring....  but having said that, Sweetie Pie is on my blog banner, so I decided I HAD to use her.  Next problem was HOW to use her in a different way to what I'd already done.  Hmmmmm... I decided Clean and Simple.... and as she looks a trifle sad while she's pondering...  I thought I'd have her looking out of a window, missing her friend!  Hmmmm  a window.... I didn't have!!  So out came my fine-liner, and I doodled a window frame then fussy cut it.  I think it worked, as I then coloured it with my copics to look a bit like wood...  Hope you agree!

Materials:
Colouring: Copics
Kraft Card
Lil' Inkers Stitched Square Die
PC generated sentiment
Glitter

So there you go....  hope you like this CAS style..  I think I tend towards that now more than anything fussy....  and I enjoy it more.

Do pop over to the challenge at All Dressed Up..... you can win lovely prizes if you join in.... but remember, you need to use an All Dressed Up image to enter.

Big hugs and Happy Crafting..
