I'm a COVER GIRL at Through The Craftroom Door......!

Hi Ladies

Well I'm really excited today to be sharing the news that I've been published!!  In fact....... (drumroll please)... I made the COVER of the fabulous online magazine called Through The CraftTroom Door!  I'm still doing the Happy Dance...  as I don't think I've ever been referred to as a 'cover girl' before!  If you click on the image below, you'll be able to go straight to the online magazine.

Through The Craftroom Door is an electronic magazine packed with fabulous articles, tutorials and inspiration all for the paper crafter.  Our lovely Wendy Burns and three brand new exclusive All Dressed Up images  (below) are being featured in the current issue.  Several of the DT submissions are also included - they are all wonderful!

These three wonderful All Dressed Up digital images are currently available only by subscribing to Through The Craft Room Door.  Your subscription entitles you to 5  issues with an additional holiday issue in the November/December issue for $18.00/year. You will have access to all the previous issues, over 100 free digi's, tutorials, inspiration, prizes and articles.  Seems like a good deal to me!

For my card, I chose to use Little Bookworm.  She's just the cutest... and as it's coming up to summer time when HOPEFULLY it'll stop raining here in the UK..  I decided to put her in a meadow with the sun shining down... I do hope she's got her Factor 30 sun lotion on her arms!
Materials Used:
Paper: Doodlebug Design Springtime
Colouring: Copics for image, Chalks for clouds
Dies: MFT Rounded Banner Stax, Joy Vintage Flourishes Grass,
Poppy Stamps Inc Wild Flower Patch, Lil' Inkers Designs Sun
Accessories:  Hemp Cord for bow, Seam Binding, Glitter

That's all for now...  I'm going to be at a garden centre near York today promoting the children's hospice lottery that I do volunteer work for...  so if anyone is near Poppleton Garden Centre at all....... do say hello!!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting from the 'cover girl'... (autographs available - hehe!!)

A little bit shabby....

Hi Peeps...

Time for our new challenge over at

and our theme this time is Shabby Chic/Vintage.  This is not my usual style as you know, but, I thought I'd do my best and it would give me a good excuse to get out my treasured Frantage.  I also dug out my Distress Inks... however, I think them and me weren't made for each other...  more practice needed methinks!

Materials Used:
Colouring: Distress Inks
Frantage: Shabby White
Paper: Sofiero from Maja Design
Trimmings from The Ribbon Girl

We'd love to see you over at In The Pink to join in the Shabby Chic fun...  you can find the challenge HERE.  The main rule of the challenge is that you use more pink than any other colour..

And now some of my news.... It's a week now since we got back from our wonderful holiday in Kefalonia..  but I've been very slow catching up with my blog commenting as I've had problems with my eye.  I've been to the opticians today to have them checked, and I'm told that all is well, but that I have another floater - this time bigger and closer to the back of the eye so is directly in my line of vision.  It's causing difficulties - particularly when I use the computer.  But the optician did tell me that in a few weeks, my brain will get used to it and my eye will work around it!! Phew!!!  I've had floaters for years (I think everyone does at one time or another), but I've not had one before that is white and so big!  Anyway...  as my commenting will be few and far between... please understand, and know I'll be back soon.

And now to show you what we woke up to every morning in Kefalonia - this was the view from our wonderful bungalow  (you can see the glass barrier at the edge of the balcony) which immediately overlooks the fabulous colours of the Ionian Sea.  You know, I think I may just be going off pink and onto turquoise/azure!! hehe!  And after all the rain this week.... I SOOOO wish I was back on that lovely island..

Simply Sentimental..

Hi Ladies

Today it's the turn of In The Pink....  and we have a 'Simply Sentimental' challenge for you.  Now - as I'm so used to using a coloured image.... this one stretched me a little - although I went for a CAS design in the end.

I used:
Simon Says Stamp Thanks Word Die (cut 3 times and layered up)
Paper Smooches Reflections Stamps and Dies
Lil' Inker Stiched Rectangle Die (altered slightly for longer shape)
Buttons and Enamel Dots

Hope you'll join us at

Remember the number one rule, that the predominant colour on your card must be pink..

Big hugs and Happy Crafting..

Yes....... you MAY go to the ball!!

Hi Ladies...

I'm here today with my DT card for Paper Nest Dolls.  It's an 'Anything Goes' challenge.... so I decided to use Ballgown Ellie - as you know my love of anything girlie!

These are such fabulous images to colour and fussy cut..  and I decided to use a Crafts Too embossing folder for the main panel - which is cut using a Nellie Snellen Multi die.

A bit of lace and a seam binding bow - then OBVIOUSLY some girlie glitter - and she was done!  Oooh the paper is from a First Edition pad called Love Letters.

We'd love you to pop over to the blog HERE to see what the uber-talented ladies of the DT have come up with to inspire you - then maybe you will give it a go.   Hope so, as there are fab prizes to be won!  We'd love you to use a Paper Nest Dolls image ... but we're also OK if you don't.

Big hugs

Hi Peeps

I'm here today with my card for In The Pink as it's that time again!!  Where does the time disappear to??

And now the reason why I haven't been around for a few days (you did miss me didn't you??)...  just a few pics of our short break away:  (sorry picture heavy..)

We popped down to the Isle of Wight where we used to live to see some good friends and have a nice rest.... then over to Dorset to see Barry's family and grandsons..  We had a fabulous time away...  in some special places to us, then a wonderful day in the park with the kiddies!  Of course, Barry had to climb on the climbing frames too... and only fell off once!! hehe!

Big hugs and Happy Crafting..
