Hi Lovely Blogging Friends...
Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.. my OH is at work both days, so I'll be getting lots of crafting time... and then he had 'in lieu' days during the week - so we'll have a couple of nice days then - I win both ways! LOL!
Now..... this weekend Alyce at Kit and Clowder is hosting her 6000 members party.... with a theme of 'Under the Sea' - and at Sugar Nellie (as we have some BEAUTIFUL mermaid images now in digi form as well as rubber), we wanted to join in the fun! The party starts later today at the Kit and Clowder Facebook Group... click on the logo...
These beautiful marine images are available in both rubber and digi - I have used Ocean's Gift.. this little mermaid has found a beautiful pearl. So with the title in mind, I also decided to give a gift.... my first ever digital paper which I created as the background for this image... all you need to do is right-click to enlarge... then save to your files. It will look quite small, but I promise it will print out at 6 x 6 inches (or whatever size you require and change it to). I created this with Photoshop Elements - and played about with gradients (thanks Colette!), and then lots of underwater marine type brushes.. Hope you like! Like I say, it IS my first ever digi paper - but now I know how to do them... watch this space!! hehe!
Now.. quelling my excitement about my digital work and back to my card.. I did LOTS of fussy cutting...... and by the time I was finished I'd decided NEVER to fussy cut again (have you seen her hair?!)... so if you see me with my Martha Stewart scissors in my hand........ tell me NO!!!
Materials:
Colouring - Copics
Skin E000/00/21/11, R20

Have a lovely weekend all... and if you do take the digi paper, let me know as I'd love to see what you make with it!
Big hugs
I think she looks gorgeous Christine and her hair looks better than mine, so I think you get a pass, lol.
ReplyDeleteStunning card, and a stunning paper too. Thank you for sharing it with us. x
Awwww Christine. This is an absolutely gorgeous, beUtiful, fabulous - there aren't enough words card! I completely lovel it. The thought of making digital paper makes me think I could get to the moon easier! ( technology eek not geek this end)!... Totally adorable all round...have a lovely weekend and great days with OH next week...xxx
ReplyDeleteYour card is gorgeous. Really amazing and your paper is just stunning, you're so clever. I've saved it as it's too good to miss, but I've not had any colour ink in my printer for about a year now, although I keep saying I'll get it sorted as I can't print any of my lovely digis papers. Have a lovely weekend my friend.

What a sweet mermaid (lots of detail to colour) and that background is perfect & a lot less messy than using a Copic airbrush (why do I always end up wearing Copic ink??) Have a great weekend xx
ReplyDeleteThank you for the lovely background paper, even printed on cheap old copy paper it is beautiful. The mermaid is so pretty and that cute little seahorse (where di he come from??)
ReplyDeleteThank you for the digi paper! It is just lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your generosity with the paper. But I had to comment on your mermaid, too. It is so beautiful. I can see where it would be tough to fussy cut, but you did an amazing job with the cutting. It adds so much to the final card, that I'm glad you took the time to do it. Your coloring is amazing!

Woohoo! you did it! clever girl! I love the paper, and it's so satisfying to make your own, I shall grab it when I get home from my holibobs, I love the mermaid, another of my favourite things, along with penguins, fairies and dandelions, she's coloured beautifully and blimey you're brave with the fussy cutting, I would have at the very least left a white border, but no you took the bull by the horns and did it the hard way. Fabulous card and fabulous paper, thanks for sharing, hugs, Colette xx
