Craft Addiction UK Dragonflies

Hi there...

Today, I'm sharing a card I made with the fabulous Dragonfly dies from Craft Addiction UK.  I decided to keep it very CAS,  just using the criss-cross die from Altenew onto my card panel, with the dragonfly landing to take a close look!

Unfortunately, you can't see that the criss-cross is cut from silver mirri card - I think I'm going to have to invest in some better camera equipment!

For the dragonfly, I coloured a piece of Bristol Smooth watercolour card, using Distress Spritzes in various colours - Wilted Violet, Peeled Paint, Salvaged Patina and Unchartered Mariner.  I let that dry before die-cutting the dragonflies (yes I have more to use!)  The Spritzes give a lovely shimmer in real life - again, it can't be spotted on these photos - you have to use your imagination! LOL!

I adhered the dragonfly to the criss-cross on the card... then added some crystal gems to it's body, and a few around the image.  I also added some Stickles glitter glue to it's body.  The tiny sentiment is from Clearly Besotted... I use this set so often!

Pretty Pink Posh Flower Bouquet

Hi Lovelies..

I've been having a little play with some older stash just lately...  for these cards I used a set from Pretty Pink Posh called Flower Bouquet.

I coloured and fussy cut the images, then created a background using dies from Craft Addiction UK called Scallopstack..  there are squares, circles and rectangles available... and they look so good!  I cut them in white, stamped and gold heat embossed my sentiment, then matted them onto pink cardstock, and then onto my card base.

I adhered the fussy cut image to the centre of the card using foam pads.

Penny Black Sending Blooms (again!)

Hi Lovelies..

Well I'm back with the second flower image from the Penny Black Sending Blooms set..  again, I've stamped, coloured and fussy cut the image, before creating the background.  This time I blended Distress Oxides through a circular stencil onto a stitched rectangle diecut panel.

I decided to go for yellow flowers this time... yes me, using yellow!  I thought they matched the background on which I'd used a few different greens.

Then finally I added a tiny sentiment from Craft Addiction UK, which I tied on to the stalks of the flowers, and some tiny gems, before adhering the panel to a green base panel.

Penny Black Sending Blooms

Hi Lovelies...

Today, I'm sharing a card I made using a fabulous stamp set from Penny Black, which I only bought last week.  It's so lovely, that I just had to stamp it straight away and get my pens out!  There's two images  in the stamp set, so you'll see the other very soon.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the flower, then I created a background using a 3D embossing folder from Altenew.  I adhered the flower with foam pads, then die cut a sentiment from gold mirri card and placed that at an angle in the corner.  I added a few sequins to match the gold, then adhered the white to a red panel to give a frame, before attaching to my card base.

Simon Says Stamp Peeking Daisy

Hi Lovelies...

Sorry to have been quiet last week, we have a new computer and it's taken some learning!  But I think I know what I'm doing now... maybe....

Now onto my card!  I've wanted this die for a good while, so when I did a Simon Says Stamp order recently, I ordered it.  It's such a simple, but very striking die.  I cut it then used a stitched square die to frame it.  Then I created a Distress Oxide blended background, splattered with gold water colour paint, for the diecut to sit on.

I created a large square card panel cutting with a large stitched square, then used a basic square die, but this time, with a rubber mat so the square simply embossed into the card panel.  I adhered the flower square with it's pink background in the centre.

Lastly, I added a little sentiment, embossed in gold, before adhering the card panel to my card base.

Sentiment - Clearly Besotted

NB Cards Sketch Challenge Sept 25

Hi Lovelies...

Just a quickie for me today... I spotted this Sketch Challenge over at NB Cards and Crafty Friends
Facebook Group - and immediately wanted to give it a go!

I decided to use a border die for the vertical stripe, with two thin strips of mirri card alongside.  Then I die cut a hexagon from some Distress Oxide blended card, that had gold splatters, and used that for the main shape, with a small gold circle die cut from mirri, and a tiny sentiment backed with mirri.

Card Info:
Dies -
Craft Addiction UK Hexagon Slatted Dies (using without the slats)
Memory Box Tessatina Border
Simon Says Stamp Circle Loops
Sentiment - Clearly Besotted Miniature Type embossed in gold
Distress Oxides - Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo,  Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves
Gold Mirri Card
Gold Watercolour Paint

Hope you like what I did.... my lovely man said 'it's very arty-farty'... I think that was a compliment! LOL!

Purple Onion Designs Party Piggy

Hi Lovelies...

I have another Purple Onion Designs cutie to share with you today - this one is aptly called Piggy Party!  I really fell for how cute he is, clutching his balloons ready to party!

I coloured the image with Copics, giving his top some white dots with a white gel pen.  I used the pen to also create the shine on the balloons.  Then I fussy cut the image - including those thin balloon strings! After that I shaped the image with a dry embossing tool to give the rounded appearance.

I did a bit of die cutting for the card panel using my stitched squares, then I used one of the slatted square dies from Craft Addiction in the centre, and behind that, popped a bit of scrap card that I'd coloured with Distress Oxides, using foam tape to give depth. I stamped a Paper Smooches sentiment onto the panel, then adhered the piggy and his balloons.  I was slightly worried that it was a bit unbalanced, so I added a couple of die cut clouds to finish.

I adhered the panel to my card base with foam tape.

Purple Onion Designs Blue Days

Hi Lovelies…

Today, I'm sharing a card I made using the gorgeous Blue Days stamp from Purple Onion Designs - isn't it the cutest you've seen???  And it's in red rubber too, so stamps like a dream!

I coloured the image and added a sentiment also from Purple Onion, from their You and I set.  Then I used a stitched rectangle die, which I elongated to cover the whole image.  I backed the panel with a matching layer which I'd created using one of the darker colours in the image.

Lastly, I added the patterned paper to my card panel with a strip of white over the join.  Then I adhered the coloured image - and it was done!

Waffle Flower Tropical Flowers Stencils

Hi Lovelies...

I've been doing a bit of stencilling - using the Waffle Flower Tropical Flowers Stencil set, which is made to fit with their postal die set.

I did the stencilling using Distress Inks, adding a tiny few marks with my Copics, to give depth.  Then I did the diecutting - and magic.. you have a set of postage stamps!  I stamped a few of the postal images in the corners... then added a sentiment which I'd embossed with gold.  I fussy cut a shadow around the sentiment and adhered it with foam pads.  I used some red card to layer behind the diecut.

MFT Sweet Somebunny

Hi Lovelies..

For my card today, I've used a couple of the fabulous dies from Craft Addiction UK..  the Slatted Star set, and the Scallopstack Square Frames.

Firstly, I had a smooshed pink background in my 'bits and bobs' box, so I used that to go behind the slats on the white star.  Then I used the next size up star cut from pink to go behind.  I diecut the scalloped square from white, and adhered that to my base card panel which is pink, adding the star.

This little bunny from MFT had been sitting on my desk all coloured up for a while, so it became centre stage on my card, sitting on a sentiment which is also from the same set.

Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Buttercups

Hi Lovelies..

Today, I’m sharing a card made with the Beautiful Butterflies die set from Simon Says Stamp. This set was part of my latest stash buy from across the pond!

So firstly, I diecut the flowers, and coloured them with Distress Oxides.. making the lower part of the petals a deeper shade.  I coloured the stems with Copics.  I also shaped the petals using a ball tool onto a hard sponge mat before putting the flower heads together with foam pads. I know there’s a technical term for the ball tool and pad, but I don’t know it!

Then I created the panel for the flowers to be attached to… I cut a rectangle of white card then scored it using my score board at equal distances apart.  I added the panel to pink card, then matted onto polka dot paper, and more pink card. I adhered the flowers with foam pads to the scored panel, glueing the stems.  Then I added the little tag, with a tiny bow to finish.

Whimsy Stamps Gullible

Hi Lovelies..

Today I'm sharing a card I made after being inspired by my lovely friend, Christine Dol.  She sent me a fabulous card that used both the gull and the circle of words... of course, I had to buy them both so I could make with them too!  Thank you Christine!

So.... I stamped the gull and added the wordsas she die, then did a little shading on the gull, before cutting the circles.  The sentiment set is going to be so useful in future as it has lots of different sentiments, all circular so they can go around lots of little images.

Then I created a background using blues (so he could be near the sea..) - I used paper from MFT paper pads... then added a ric-rac diecut to cover the join.  Finally I added it all to a navy blue card panel.

Simon Says Stamp Etched Layered Daisy (Card 3)

Hi Lovelies...

Today I'm back with my third card using this gorgeous Etched Layered Daisy die from Simon Says Stamp.

This time, I just used one of the flower heads, coloured again with Copics, then added to a pink card panel in the centre.  I added a white die cut panel, cut with a circle die in the centre, using foam tape to lift it off the pink.  I adhered the daisy to the pink card - then diecut another circle with my nesting dies to add around the aperture.  Believe me, it is central, but it looks anything but on the photos!

The sentiment was added before I attached the white panel, so I could get a good impression.

Card Info:
Dies - Simon Says Stamp Etched Layered Daisy,
Li'l Inkers Stitched Square, Spellbinders Circles

I'll put this die away for a little while now..  but it's definitely one that I'll use a lot!

Simon Says Stamp Daisy - Card 2!

Hi Lovelies..

Today I'm back with Daisy card number two..  this one is a very CAS card - all I did was diecut the daisy with it's leaves, and coloured it with Copics before adhering the pieces together.

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto a deep pink card panel, then adhered the daisy with foam pads to give the flower some shape.  I finished off the card with a few gems in the corner.

Card Info:

Sentiment - MFT Something for Everything Stamp Set

I had big ideas on what to add to the card when I was designing it, but decided it was far more elegant without.  You know what they say - Less is definitely more!
