Well I don't like this, but it seemed a good idea..

Hi Girls

Well.... after a couple of weeks, this is all I come up with (I hear you say....)  The answer is yes!  Dunno whats the matter with me....  I thought this may look nice, and used a couple of circle dies to cut out a ring.  I then used an Xcut punch for the snowflakes (after considering using a die and deciding against it on the grounds my arm would drop off after doing it so many times...)  Then I used some MeiFlower irridescent white (not lilac as they look) snowflakes with a couple of gems, then a splash of red with the ribbon bow.  All on a base of white linen card, with a layer of dotty embossing folder card inbetween.  And....... ewwwwww....... I don't like.. but thought I'd post it anyway.  Hmmmmmmmmmmmf!  Pffffffffffffffft....  (both words I got from webchat years ago - but fit well)

So... it's back to the drawing board.  I think I may just have a TAD too much stuff in my craft room.... the words 'wood' and 'trees' come to mind.

My only feeble excuse is I still have dental pain... though it seems to have turned into some kind of neuralgia which hurts in my temple and up to the top of my head.  I've had root canal work done, and a second filling - and am still not better than I started.  Yuck!

OK.......  Let me know what you think...... (about the card that is, not the tooth..)  As always, I'm happy for any comments that come my way...
Hugs

  1. Hi Christine, well I think it's very pretty! From what I've seen of your cards it doesn't appear to be your main style but it is a lovely card. I think we can all be too hard on ourselves sometimes - we look at a card and only see the faults, others look at them and see the final handmade card. Sorry that reads a bit wonky, but I hope you know what I mean! I would be extremely pleased to receive the card. Hope the tooth gets sorted soon, terrible to have constant head pain. Best wishes, Sarah

  2. Well Christine, I think its beautiful. Really gorgeous. Im afraid I dont have the problem of too much in my craftroom....put it this way, the 12x12 paper pack I won from you is my 2nd pack of 12x12's in my possession...how very sad sounding! I think your card is really stunning. Oh dear, sorry to hear your tooth is still giving you bother. Hope you get it sorted. A tooth ache can be such a distraction. I really do love your card, I think you are too hard on yourself. Lee xx

  3. I don't know what you don't like about it. It is really pretty, and the white on white look is really classic. It is also really different as most of us (me included!) just use images rather than use our own creative imagination by making something from scratch. I, for one, like it so you can send it to me for Xmas because I'll appreciate it !!!

  6. This is a great idea for a card, perhaps if the photo hadn't shown it as lilac and you had punched red snowflakes to match the ribbon you would have been happier. But it is lovely.

  13. Move the two lower coloured snowflakes up just a tad and change the ribbon to coordinate with the flakes (or visa versa). Otherwise I love it. Great idea. How's the tooth doing? better I hope. xo Coleen
